The most important thing here is his health.

He won't have taken this decision lightly.

I'd like to say thank you very much for giving us - as fans and as a club - some of the best memories ever.

He's an absolute legend and if he feels it's time to move on then I'm 100% made up for him that he's stepped away at the right time.

Your health and your family always, always come first.

Well. That’s the end of that then. I can’t be upset at him, if anyone deserves a break it’s him.

He’ll be back in a role somewhere after about 6-12 months I imagine. You just hope it’s not in the Premier League.

(Probably a coincidence but didn’t he say he’d walk if they did a behind the scenes documentary thing? They announce they’re thinking of doing one, and next thing we know he’s leaving)

As a rival fan, this is great news for us, but the Premier League will certainly be worse off without him. Ridiculously good manager and his man management is up there with the best. It's important you get the next one right, Alonso I can see.

Do people think there's a chance he'll return to Liverpool once he's had a break from football?

I was 16 when Kenny stepped down and to be honest it didn't upset me that much because I just thought we would get someone else and continue to dominate, plus even to me at the time I could see the toll that Hillsborough had taken on him.

This is a bigger shock and much more upsetting, even as a middle aged man. I don't care what anyone says, we are going to be a worse team next season. Everything about the club is going to be worse.

he told the club in NOvember so they may have decided afterwards to look to do it

We all thought he was re-energised, but maybe he is just giving us all he has left.

Yup, looks like whole senior coaching team is going with him.

This is legit a fucking horrid day, I never felt this attached to a Liverpool manager, Jurgen is one of those wonderfully charismatic people, you can see why people love playing for him etc, he made Liverpool amazing again, I legit am struggling to imagine life after him.

Maybe announcing it now is a way to motivating the boys to try and win everything we are in for with him one last time, we can only hope, go out with a big bang.

Praying for Xabi. Cannot think of literally anyone else I'd want.
