Mclaughlin is miles ahead of flanagan in all fairness even if Kelly isn't fit to start

No first team experience though.

Because that's how fans work. Win and we are title contenders, lose and Rodgers was naive in his selection, Kelly should of played and we should sell Suarez in January.

we had good width with G.Johnson and he was a real threat going forward, so I was hoping for a draw with him in it. But now it seems BR is gonna play defensively with Flanagan.
Agger must want to move as Vice captain cant get a game even though it would be more sensible for him to come in and Toure to play RB or RWB.

Going for 3-1 loss

We are John there's a thread dedicated to that fact and it also appears to bubble beneath the surface of every thread. Arsenal on the other hand, are phenomenal and clearly unbeatable with their ever so technical midfield.

The manager will get hammered or praised depending on how the selection works out. Rodgers does make some strange selections and this does seem one of them.

And he hasn't played a minute of competitive first-team football for us.  Is it any less of a risk throwing in a teenager in a top-of-the-table game away from home?

I was talking about the after match threads! Win? 10 pages. Lose? 30 pages.

One advantage we have in this match is that we have Coutinho who can potentially change the whole dynamic of the match should it not be going our way.

These guys know it. Dunno what's gone into them now. Flanno's played many a time like a very mature player and he still has that in him. He's played in important matches and against the big teams in the past and he didn't look out of place.

These are the kind of calls managers sometimes have to make. If Flanagan plays brilliantly and we win, Rodgers will look like a genius but will get unfortunately get hammered if Flanagan has a poor game and we get beaten. We'll know soon enough either way! C'mon Flanagan!!! :champ

The defenders really need to be able to cover for him

I'm pretty sure Johnson has pulled out last minute, McLaughlin isn't with the squad so it was a choice between Kelly who looked way off the pace last week, Flanno or move one of Henderson or Toure last minute which would probably disrupt the team as I'm sure they've been preparing and training for this all week.

You don't really want to have to chop and change your team completely at the very last minute so putting Flanagan in for Johnson is probably the least disruptive move Rodgers could make for the team.

Hopefully he does well, just wanted to play Devil's advocate and apply a bit of sense to the situation rather than slate Flanno and Rodgers! ;D

Please... it's not the first time Flanno's going to face quality players. He's done it quite a few times before and it wasn't a biggie. Calm down lads! He played in a win against Arsenal away and a 3-0 full debut against City- amongst others! Come on!

Searches for Not Sure If Serious gif.

definitely serious.
Sensible thing to do is bring Agger or Kelly on and let experience do the rest with same tactic as last week.
This is a big gamble and I fear that we will play very defensively and it will cost us the game, thus making Flano the scapegoat and BR getting questioned about his choices. I might be pessimistic and hope I am wrong but
better to fear for the worst then getting too much hopes up.
The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.
