Good deal for all involved. Best of luck to him down here, he has the makings of a very good player and now needs to show that each week on the pitch. A bit disappointed it didn't work out for him with us but now I'm looking forward to seeing how Luis Alberto gets on.

Not sure what the answer is with players like Shelvey. I'm convinced he'll be a very good Premier League player and probably one that ends up at a top six club but just not sure he'd get the opportunities here that he needs, he looks ready to play regularly in the league now. Wish him luck and just hope we've got some option in there to bring him back in case it goes as well as it could do at Swansea.

Well I think it's a lot of money for a player like Shelvey, but that won't be a popular opinion around here I bet. All the best to him, glad we sold him so we have more money available for real reinforcements.

Think this is a good deal for all involved.

Shelvey is a good player, and might eventually be a very good player (though probably never a great one). I think he'll do very well for Swansea; he strikes me as the sort of player who's better off as a bigger fish in a smaller pond, and Swansea is probably just the right size pond for him. I think their fans will really like him, and I'm pleased as I rather like Swansea fans for the most part.

Right with you on that one. His brief spell at Blackpool was a pretty good example of that.

I'll always remember signing him in FM2010 every time and having him tear it up, despite being the strangest-looking player in the whole damned database.

to be honest I think h is unlucky, I remember when Leonardsen was getting a regular game. Shelvey is unlucky in that the club currently has an absolute glut of players for the middle. Ten years ago he would have been a very welcome addition to the squad.

No we won't. He's a good player for a team like Swansea, definitely good enough for the PL, but never good enough for Liverpool. As usual RAWK is overestimating our own players. It's a good deal. But that's just my opinion.

Good deal for Swansea. I don't think we'll regret it anytime soon, but maybe in a few years. He'll be a great player if he loses his rash tackling and works on a few other areas of his game.

Good luck lad, genuinely thought he'd develop into Stevies successor when he first came here.

Personally would've rather seen a season long loan to a lower prem club where he'd play regularly at.
But the club know best and i hope we've got a buyback clause in there or at least a % of any sell on.

I know people seem to rate him, but how far have we fallen if the likes of Shelvey leaving is almost universally mourned, when he's not exactly set the world alight in his rare actually starts for the first team?
Some of you seem to give more of a shit that he hold Fergie to fuck off, making him a 'legend'.

He'd have been more of a legend had he been brilliant when he played against Man U and scored a few past them.

That said, best of luck to him. Decent for a team like Swansea, nowhere near good enough for us if we want to be the club we were. Just my opinion.

In a year we'll still have Coutinho and Suso competing for his favoured position, plus any more players we might sign before then like Mkhitaryan. The club know what they're doing, they'll have more than likely done a deal like the Ince one where if Shelvey does well and another club comes in for him we would have a window in which we could match any offers that are accepted for him.
