You can almost see the colour drain from a new PM after they've had the situation explained to them - usually by about day two. Remember all that guff from Blair, in the early days, about taking on 'the forces of conservatism'.

Well, he reckons he needs to cut 25 billion from the welfare bill. Might be a good idea to start with Hodge Bodge and the other bone idle bastards at the FA.

Does he have such a mandate in this cobbled-up unholy alliance with the Torydems? This is the stuff of major impact like in a week or three's time - NOT some nebulous objective 3 years down the road aways.
These whey-faced bastards will relish the back-slapping kudos this would earn them with those shadowy beings that hold the REAL power in the Conservative and Unionist party - those faceless Tory Grandees.

Been too busy to look into the nitty gritty Johno. But he's gearing up for it. He supposedly knows he's going to run into trouble with the liberals but let's face it, he just rides roughshod over them. And he's boldly talking about pushing things through after the next election. All I can say is, if he gets in again, even though the Labour party are shite, this country has got what it deserves. But then, more people vote on the Xfactor than in a general election, so I think we past that post long ago. Gobshite of a nation, we've become worse than yanks.

A lot of the benefit reforms, especially the ones targeting sick and disabled people had been planned and implemented by the Labour Party. The other shower of bastards (Cameron and Clegg) couldn't bring them in fast enough. They even head hunted the chief architect  The right horrible Frank Field M.P (Labour) to make sure it all ran smoothly. At least when Thatcher was in power we had the hope that  we would eventually get rid of her and replace her with something better. Those days have long since gone. These bastards today would send their own kids up chimneys if they thought they would get votes out of it.

P.S. Regarding Sciatica F.S, I know you will probably have already tried it, but when I had it, the only position I could find any sort of relief from the pain, was lying on my back on the couch with the affected leg up on the back-rest of the couch.
I wish I could still climb up the drain-pipe that used to be at the back of the toilet that was outside the kop.

Strange one this, but Cantona joined the Justice Band on stage in Lyon tonight, got up for "Should I Stay or Should I Go", when asked he delared "I fully support the fight for Justice"

Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but, nice one Eric!

Maybe Souness should have signed him all those years ago when he had the chance

A lot of the benefit reforms, especially the ones targeting sick and disabled people had been planned and implemented by the Labour Party.
We all know they're as bad as the tories. The cause of all today's financial woes can be traced back to Thatcher and Reagan, their deregulation of the city and lifting of all constraints. But Tony Blert and Gordon Brown handed the house keys to the burglars. The problem is, the Labour party is all we've got. People are making a stance and trying to fight back, but they're so scattered and divided it dilutes the effect we can have. All we've ever had, is our numbers. The only way we've ever changed anything, is by the sheer amount of us complaining and fighting back. That's why I believe we have to retake the Labour party from the silver spoon brigade. But I can't be arsed going on about it right now. Been walking the floors for the last 4 and half hours. I'd be aswell starting a jobs/hunger march. At least there'd be some point to it... save putting another doughnut in the living room carpet.

Nice one Cantona, but I still hate him. The bastard. He was the catalyst for the last twenty years. I think I hate him even more than Cameron. Just messing Johno... an absolutely incredible footballer, a complete and utter nutter, and now doing that in Lyon, what's not to like? But in all seriousness, I didn't take to some of the poncing and posing, but other than that I always did like the lad.

POOLEY,

Yes, same problem with b.p. tablets.
Stopped them for a few days then started again and started coughing again.
Next lot started coughing and bringing up spots of blood.
Doctor changed them and now on 4th. type of tablets and started on
8mg tablets, after a bit I started to have problems with dizzy spells.
Doc dropped me down to 4mg and okay for a bit but started dizzy spells again,
b.p. too low so changed to present 2mg daily  and been okay for ages.

My tablets are Candersartan, otherwise known as Amias.

Hope this is of some help.

Pete.

Pooley,

Forgot to say that these type of tablets might make you very  dry
and I drink lots of bottled water, our tap water is shite.

My cupboard has meloxicam, candersartan, plaquenil, ferrous
sulphate, lots of paracetemol and am about to start injecting
myself with new medication every week.
The trouble is trying to remember what I`ve taken and when.

I can still remember Kinnock and his cronies, decimating the Labour Party in Liverpool. Many friends who had worked tirelessly for the party for years, were kicked out for daring to be socialist . They changed the rule book and abandoned the principles that the Party was formed for, making socialism a dirty word and accusing anybody who didn't embrace the 'New Labour'  agenda, as dinosaurs of the left and treated them as a bit of a joke. I am sure you are well aware of this F.S.
I hope you are right F.S. and some people do have the stomach to fight back and re-claim the Labour Party. There are young people out there who are becoming more politically aware and will continue to become more aware as they are targeted more and more by the current regime.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It wasn't Neil Kinnock that changed Clause 4 of the Labour Party Pooley - Kinnock took on MT and Derek Hatton in the early/mid 80's

It was Tony Blair who destroyed Clause 4 when he became leader in 1994. He called a special conference at Easter 1995 and the old "to secure for the workers by hand or by brain" Part 4 of Clause 4 was consigned to the dustbin of history - along with my membership of that party. See the full quote below.

"To secure for all the workers by hand or by brain the full fruits of their industry and the most equitable distribution thereof that may be possible upon the basis of the common ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange, and the best obtainable system of popular administration and control of each industry of service."

That last underlined bit (about the banks and financial institutions) is somewhat ironic in the wake of all the bank bail-outs don't you think?

I think we lost the Labour Party when Micheal Foot got fucked off. It was the start of the photogenic, politico celeb bollocks we are force fed today. But you're right Pooley... loads of kids are seeing through it. Like young Reds, they aren't all daft. There's some really good kids about. I just hope we don't have to go into total collapse to salvage and change things. I feel so sorry for the poor fuckers. The greedy bastards are leaving them nothing.

There was a hope when John Smith was leader that we might have got back to a proper moral stance after the 'Oh Yea' Kinnoch years.
I have a clip on an old VHS tape of the tail end of his final conference which makes for wistful viewing for what might and could have been.
Blair and so many that later came to power noticeably not on the podium.  Smith was a good man and in my opinion, a tragically missed opportunity for Britain.
I don't do polite so fuck yoursalf with your stupid accusations...

Right you fuckwit I will show you why you are talking out of your fat arse...

I was in the States at the time and missed that period. The only time the Labour party even got mentioned over there was when Blair started his Cool Brittannia nonsense and Oasis at Number 10 got on the telly.

Boss fella Michael Foot, sad indictment on this country that a top parliamentary speaker and genuine man ridiculed by the national press to the point where he became unelectable and we were left with the likes of the photogenic arsehole Blair as an electable alternative.

The whole political thing is fucked up to death.

It is frightening how quickly politics in our country became a clone of the U.S.A. a system where all parties have the same ultimate goal which is dictated to them by the Banks and huge multi-nationals who are richer than most of the countries in the world.
I wish I could still climb up the drain-pipe that used to be at the back of the toilet that was outside the kop.

that Cable must not give the deal to buy BSkyB to Ofcom
otherwise News Corp will shit on the Lib Dems from a great height.

That's why we have to take it back. I can't do much but I'm having a go. Fuck them. I want my Alfie to still be able to have some fish when he's 30.

Back in the early eighties, I lived down Pimlico way, bus used to pass the Houses of Parliament, imagine my surprise to see Michael Foot on the Bus going to work, brilliant fella, the gutter press didn`t like his duffle coat though. Will we ever see the likes of him again ?

Although that’s great news the great british public have now lost interest and it will be even worse when that great big circus starts up shortly – they’ll probably sneak the real bad stuff out then.

Even without all that we’re bollocksed anyway. The British (well the English actually) aren’t into politics, in fact I would say that most of the people are totally politically illiterate  (funnily enough I don’t think this applies to the Scottish, Irish and Welsh), and in fact they fucking hate the subject and they’ll hate you when you start trying to educate them on it – they aren’t all Conservative, but they are all conservative. They never take to the streets about anything unless it’s foxhunting, and the ones who do take to the streets are vilified as the great unwashed-fancy-dress-juggling-workshy-you-name-it’s by the rabid press.

I used to hate the French but when Thatcher got in the socialists in Europe were our last hope. At least they get fucking angry every now and again.

But the great British public – pah. You’re wasting your time on them. Ask them why they vote a particular way, and it’s only ever because of the perceived difference it will make to their pocket – it’s never because they think it’s best for everyone, and they’d be shocked if you told them that you thought that was selfish of them.

Look at Thatcher, she convinced about forty per-cent of the people that the tory’s were looking after their interests, because they all thought they were millionaires – and they were right yer know, because anyone could become a millionaire all of a sudden, all you had to do was borrow a million.

We’re no better now, we've got normal working (tax-paying) families turning up at food kitchens because they can't feed their families, while the fat-cats boast routinely of paying less tax than their cleaners. But you can't even increase the fat-cat’s nominal rate of tax (that they don't even pay anyway), cos they might leave the country and they create jobs yer know, just ask anyone. How many percentage points do you think you would have to increase their tax rate before it affected whether they could afford to eat or not. Call their bluff. Let them fuck off if they want to. You live in this country so play by the same rules as the rest of us.  How long will it be before it’s a case of, “Oh I know he’s a murdering paedophile but he creates jobs yer know”.

We have a Royal family that lives in the most obscene luxury imaginable and yet we want them, because they’re good for tourism! I personally believe that most people who give that answer are just too embarrassed to admit to the child-like awe-inspired naivety that is the real reason. Why not bring back public executions, the tourists would flood in, so the great british public would vote for it tomorrow – bollocks to ‘em.

You can’t beat the system, but you can ignore it. Don’t be jealous of them, they might have everything money can buy but they’ve probably got fuck all of what money can’t buy. You’ve got your family and friends and hopefully enough to make ends meet. Don’t get sucked in to being like them. I know I sound defeatist, but all I’m saying is if you’ve got any fight in you, go and use it profitably in France or Scotland cos you’ll get no back-up here – just a hiding from the police while the media and their adoring public applaud.

Don’t know whether I’ll feel like this tomorrow, like.
