Brighton want Kelleher, along with Brentford, Spurs etc. £40mil + Kelleher for Caicedo? :)
If they are.. they're getting one helluva good keeper at that age.
Pity.. but like you said- we can use that to our advantage. The Milner transfer is more like a "relationship builder" between us.

Kelleher off to Brighton for 30-40m would make Mac Allister at 70m sn ok deal.
I doubt we get that for Kelleher

I do think £30m should be achievable. Yes, he's a backup keeper but he won't be at the club he's going to so should be priced accordingly.

Of course we've no say with where Milner goes, being a free transfer. However, we've maybe smoothed things by giving Brighton permission to speak to him - they wouldn't technically have been allowed to until his contract expired without our permission.

I hope we include some sort of clause on whatever Kelleher deal takes place.

Sucks to lose him to be honest but I suppose if Alisson (hopefully) has no intention of going anywhere he can be our keeper for a good few years still

Considering Brighton are about to have a shitload of income from player sales and PL finishing position, we should demand as much as possible for Kelleher

Jokes aside, if Brighton really want Kelleher, that makes our job of getting Mac Allister easier. I would even send some of our young players (Morton?) on loan there, as a sweetener ...

They’re getting Milner. That’s a sweetener enough.

That's our midfield sorted(with Trent tucking in to make it 4). A little bit blunt, but Ideally, it should be two 6s with good passing range... and we're laughing..
Sit deep and pin balls on the ground and over-top all day long.. see Nunez and Jota get on the end of that, and Mo/Gakpo mopping up everything on the floor.

Sit back and appreciate the salt and bitterness- "They're just a long-ball team!", "Sam Kloppdyche", etc..

Credit to BMB this is a really succinct write up of the fella, I'd add that he seems to have an excellent mentality and attitude
Henderson has been very good in patches and if he had the confidence of Shelvey he would be some player.

Kelleher to Brighton is an interesting link. I think it'd be a really good move for all parties, actually. He's definitely good enough for Prem + Europa League football.

From our perspective I imagine we sell him and bring in a replacement for free or with a year left on their contract maybe so we can get them cheaper. He'll be older no doubt, maybe the links to Zieler will even turn out to be true. Just need someone who's steady and a bit less of a basket case than Adrian who is probably also leaving. Can't imagine he'll be any improvement on Kelleher but the money we get for Kelleher will probably be re-invested towards midfielders which should help. Hopefully means we won't be cheaping out when it comes to actually buying a few because we're giving up a top young keeper for this.

25 million would be a fair price, IMO. Hasn't played much sure, but he's a trophy winner and international player who as a goalkeeper can play on for another 15 years, and let's be honest if he's a success for Brighton they'll sell him before he reaches his prime for big, big money. Maybe some sort of sell-on fee would be smart. Ultimately, Southampton brought a kid in from City's academy to play in goal and it's not got them very far, I think he's been quite poor throughout the season and they spent 15 million on him. Remarkably he seems to play more for Ireland than Kelleher.

We should get a decent fee, and generally doing business with a club does make other business easier. So would be good for us.

I doubt we will get 30m for a back up keeper.... No matter how good he is... who has played very little this season so not exactly in the shop window. His international team mate went for 15m to Southampton so anything around there would be decent.

Can't say I know much about him, so maybe he's got as good or better potential than Kelleher but at that point he had at best League One experience, very different to Kelleher no?

I just struggle to see how we'll get that much for someone who's played so little. That Kepa fee never fails to amaze me, there are plenty of goalies in the prem who absolutely stink. Even Pickford is one of the more expensive goalkeepers of all time, here's hoping if he leaves Everton it's at least to one of United or Spurs which would still be a great laugh. Would be another big money move no doubt for someone who's had many years of personal and club/international related failures. The market is a joke.

I get what you are saying but it is kind of irrelevant

Kepa is a dreadful keeper, never rated him, not even the best keeper at his club never mind a top keeper

He isnt any better than Pickford

Anyway no qualms about looking for big money for Kelleher, he is a good back up for us but unfortunately for him he isnt getting ahead of Alisson, unfortunate for kelleher he is at the same club as one of the best in the world

I would have kelleher ahead of many first choice keepers in the league including clubs like spurs, chelsea and plenty of others.

It's an interesting one - fascinated to see what fee we can get for him
Goal keepers are under priced and at some point that 'inefficiency' is going to get sorted - its madness that 35 million would make a keeper one of the most expensive of all time
If we take a step back goal keeper is a critical position where you can directly point to goals stopped over expectation and their value and yet they're currently the cheapest position on the pitch to buy for

Let's say Kellher is a PL first team standard keeper - if Brighton are buying him its to start for the 6th best team in thel league   ... anyway let's say he's league average and he's prime age (ish) - if he was a centre back what would he cost? .. if he was a forward what would it be?
Obviously in his case the buying club could point to his level not being proven but at some point the fee scale for keepers will change

Especially interesting in the context of the season we've all watched - I wouldn't say it was outrageous if someone suggested Allison had contributed to us being 10 or more points better off this season (as opposed to having a hypothetical 'very good' alternative in his shoes)

This is true but it’s clear Klopp rates Milner but he seems like he going forcing FSG to get a new contract in front of him (as yet).

No doubt, Milners name came up in transfer confirmations and we have gone fair enough we will help you get him them. Sweet as chocolate.

I think the elite goalkeepers are undervalued, although so few move that's hard to say now, but I think there's so many average goalkeepers that clubs are never going to commit too much in a position that can be hard to really evaluate. Brighton are their best ever with a goalkeeper who spent like 3 1/2 years on their bench for example.

- The way the rest of the season pans out will have a significant impact on Mac Allister’s future plans. He WANTS to play Champions League football if he leaves Brighton this summer

It's not true that Mac Allister will only leave for a club in the champions league. - @GerGarciaGrova
