Thanks lads, thought that would be the case. I’m not totally sure exactly what they’ve managed to do to get in this mess and why they just didn’t start buying the games individually.

Possibly thought they were sorted on ACS until it was too late and they’d already missed out on the first group game? Or might have even thought that if they were out of the auto cup they were out of CL full stop for the season.

If they’d have let me know sooner I could have helped them out with it, but only found out they’d not been going the homes this season the other week.

So am I right in thinking it will only be this season they’re screwed for, and that when 2021-22 starts they’ll be back in business because credits will be used from 2019-20?

Can’t be many that have multiple aways from 2019-20 (and this season) but aren’t even eligible to go into the ballot
I mean they should've know they weren't in the ACS when they just didn't get Milan tickets, sounds like a bit of a mess but lucky nothing counts past this season

All travel now booked. Return flight to Eindhoven Fri-Sun, then bus to Paris there and back. Decided to stop off in Lille on the way back to see an old friend, breaks the journey up. £74 total. On the madness of the thought we mess up next week, at least I get to see a pal, that’s what I’ve told the Mrs anyway  ;D

I went out on a limb a bit as soon as the venue was changed to Paris but feeling quite good as I managed to get Easyjet from Luton to CDG on the 6am Saturday flight and returning on the 8am Sunday flight for £130 including seats and insurance! Kip in the airport I guess.

Was up to about £400 last time I looked before the semi first legs were even played.

It’s being sensible. Paid £125 (including bet) risk free after quarters. Same flights over 3 ton now.

Probably wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise. I booked hotels with free cancellation all over europe the day the war started.

Yikes. Didn't realise it was that bad. Hopefully the club/sport options do some charter flights.

If you’ve not booked yet, at least look at options so you can snap it up at full time. I hadn’t booked anything until after Wednesdays game but we’d considered the options pre game should it end in a good result and thankfully it did.

The travel costs have rocketed particularly if you’re from Liverpool. I’m going Fri-Sun. Wanted an early flight back into Liverpool should we manage to do it! I’m content with not having a ticket if it needs be but want to be there this time. I was panicking with Klopp’s contract running out  ;D

They’ll be comparable in price to the World Choice Sport ones already advertised at £650.

Eurostar sold out. Eurotunnel and ferry currently £250 a car.

Think most people will be looking at two flights in and out now and even that won’t be cheap. Or charter coaches, which I expect to be most affordable option.

An absolute con that. Flights from Liverpool (1 change) and 2 nights accommodation sub £400 all in and as I said I left it until Wednesday night to book anything.

If you don’t have the time to be away for the weekend fair enough but £650 for just the flight is scandalous

Sport Options are normally okay, was always going to be stupidly higher because it's us and it's a bank holiday, even though Paris is an International Hub it's bloody stupid that they can hike prices.

I feel sorry for anyone who books with World Choice Sports as they're scam artists, Didn't they cancel a trip to Benfica or somewhere on the day!?

for people who haven't booked yet, flying to Paris isn't really an option due to prices/lack of flights so have a look at the following options:

Lille
Caen
Brussels
Nantes
Bordeaux
Marseille

and one city that probably not many considered - Milan

direct flight from Liverpool to Milan on Friday costs £48 at the moment, lands in Milan 20:15, night out/hotel in Milan, direct train at 06:25 from Milan to Paris £69.81 atm, you're in Paris at 13:12

Very sensible, the cost if you wait until it's guaranteed is pretty steep! I got Air France flights, Manchester to Paris, Thursday to Sunday for £170 each. Free cancellation as they were booked before 28 Feb. Triple room at a budget Ibis with free cancellation booked at the same time for £170. So under £700 for 3 people. all with free cancellation. Flights are £659 each now without free cancellation.

It’s not a bank holiday.

It's the start of half-term week in a lot of places though.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

I booked flight from London Gatwick for Thursday 26th at 11.45 for £60 over a month ago but, even now they are still cheap from there with just getting to London to sort out. I hadn't decided until after the 2 matches this week whether to get a flight from Manchester at 7am to Gatwick which was £55 or get the first train from Lime Street at 5.25am for £64, but after City's result and knowing all the issues around Manchester airport security I opted to book us on the train. Return I only booked after Benfica for £123 coming back Sunday morning - 8.35am to Venice then flight from Venice at 12.20 get back to Manchester at 1.55pm and a train straight to Lime Street if we've a parade going on, ain't missing that this time! Hotel was booked after the venue change with free cancellation for £287, so for the two of us going it works out at £400 each with cover bets included on Villarreal of £35!

Gatwick to Paris flights still between £50 - £85 on Thurday 26th
Paris - Venice, Venice - Manchester return early on Sunday is still now only £116 or £146 depending on the first flight time.

To be honest, I'm more concerned about a few days in the bars of Paris if we play City! Think the flight will be OK but I think the atmosphere in Paris will be a bit different to Madrid or Kyiv.

It’ll be sound. Paris is massive and there’s no real rivalry between city and Liverpool.

Fingers crossed that most routes we’ve all booked on will be primarily red because 1) we had chances to book early and hedge that they didn’t really, and 2) they’ve no experience in booking for a full capacity champions league final so weren’t aware of the need to book early.

Concerned? I’m concerned that you have that much money spare to wait 😂 regardless, I always go on the trip anyway even if we don’t qualify and have a few much needed days off work. I’ve paid 70 odd quid. That now is 350+ it’s an absolute no brainier surely?

I wish I did!! Just did the figures today including everything and yeah, booking early might be wise especially with the Tuesday fixture deciding a team who will get there and prices may shoot up even more,  shocking some of the prices I've seen just today in Paris  £3000!? for two nights!? I assume people will stay elsewhere nearby

If we get through, there will be more reasonable hotels, you'll just need to keep looking and be about when people cancel. They usually come up at original price, at least initially.

I have two hotels, one near the city centre and one nearer the ground. Going to keep both until nearer the time in case one cancels me. 100 quid for each of them. I have no concept of transport or anything in paris. Is transport straight forward? Flying into ORLY airport and need back there again Sunday morning. This is the part that makes me most nervous really.
