I don't know why Levy is furious at Liverpool. It is an open market and we are still able to negotiate. He can fume all he wants but I'm not sure Liverpool have done anything wrong here or for that matter Porto or the player.

Yep, all Tottenham journos ran the story about them being in for Diaz too, perhaps they should look in to why they keep having these public pursuits of players like Dybala, Lautaro, Fernandes, Diaz etc then never getting them. Hardly our fault.

Funny because that article actually makes us look better. Cut Mendes out and went straight to his proper agent.

I assume they are spurs journos writing that. Like Spurs stood a chance.

Levy is petty I bet he comes in for Carvalho.

It also makes me wonder how Tottenham agreed terms with Diaz without his Colombian agent knowing? Was Mendes even authorised to represent him? I would think an authorised representative would need to have some sort of agency agreement. Not sure how Mendes negotiated and agreed terms with Diaz without his agent there?
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

he had a tough match last night as the Argies were well up for it and not too many chances created on both sides

Interested to see if he gets a bench role vs  Cardiff

he wont be on the bench. arrives in liverpool on thursday night. he will not have trained with the team more than 1 time - let alone getting used to a completely new life in a new city.

I'm sure I remember reading when Jota signed that because we were on good terms with his agent, things went really smoothly.

Mainly because he doesn't actually want to spend that kind of money but wants to show that he does. You would think it was his money that Levy was spending! Generally when Spurs buy a player you don't tend to hear about it till its done, but the ones they "lose out" on seem to be heavily reported.

As reported, it turns out Diaz, his agent  and Porto preferred our deal! Porto know they have a better chance of getting those addons!

I think he can come off the bench for the last 20 mins, when the game is stretched, defences are tired, against lower league opposition, at home, in a lower stakes game

It's basically a free hit, even if we lose, he won't be blamed as he was only a sub, 20 mins means there will be no expectation of a goal or assist as such, let's give him a taster make him feel involved

Would be very surprised if he's in the squad on the weekend, give him time to get used to his new digs, get a feel for the area, get to know his new teammates.  He'll probably be at Anfield, watching from the stands.

No offence intended to resident Spuds on here, but it gives me no small sense of satisfaction that we leapfrogged this lot so decisively and won a title, when the closest they got was clinging onto Leicester's coat tails for 95% of a season.

Does explain a lot. He should have used it in his defence.

"Mr Suarez, how do you defend your actions in biting a fellow player?"
"I came from Amsterdam m'lud. Still had the munchies"
"Case dismissed!"

None quite so bad as the Everton fans booing Van Dijk for having the audacity to get a season ending injury against them

That for me is the weirdest fucking booing Ive ever heard. What on earth goes through their heads to boo someone for getting proper cropped.

I actually do remember booing Sigardsson along with many others when he turned us down and went to Spurs when we played Spurs in the pre season warm up tour in 2012 in Baltimore. Thankfully he turned out to be very average.
