I want to forget all about 'we go again'.
If we had won the league it'd be great. But we didn't. It will be remembered like Kevin Keegan's 'love it' rant. Ultimately it didn't have anything to do with us 'bottling' it. But it will be assosiated with it.
That's just about missed the whole point of why that rallying call from Gerrard was so important. We go again, it's the fucking call of a winning mentality. We built momentum we built a side that could challenge city for fucks sake. We just need to go again! Harder, faster and longer, we go again. We never give in, we set our standard and the we aim for consistently hitting our mark time and time again, half by half, game by game, season by season we go again. 86 next year 88 the year after we go again.
This attitude this belief this "way of working" will win games grind out draws from losing positions, and most importantly as we have seen put winning streaks together. Winning streaks of any significance win titles. Our last 14 games of this season produce 12 wins a loss and a draw. It was fucking huge, and it happened because this team bought in to the idea summed up neatly by the maxim "we go again".
You can forget about it if you want to, but I hope it's here to stay. Gerrard expressed it in rare moment of tv sporting drama, but he's not made it up, he's singing from a hymn sheet drummed in to them by our coaching staff. And they wont be changing the message because they feel silly about having lost a game or a title.
They will reassess, regroup, refresh, reboot, restock rest up AND GO AGAIN.
You fucking plumb.
