Sami's given his views on Can:

Quote
Hyypia said: "Emre is one of those players that always gives 100 per cent on the pitch. He is a very dynamic player and he is quite mature physically as well.

"He is quite a technical player and he does the simple things perfectly, with 100 per cent concentration, and I think he will have a great career at Liverpool.

"With the work ethic he has, I know the Liverpool fans will love him. He needs to make this next step forward in his career and Liverpool is a great club for him to continue to improve.

"He's also very skilful and he can play it very simple. I think he suits the Liverpool style of play and physically he can compete in the Premier League for sure.

"I was very happy for him to see him sign for Liverpool and I'm looking forward to watching him in the Premier League."

Official

Quite excited about seeing how well Can fits into things.

I actually think he'll be quite involved in the 1st team this season. He's certainly got the physique to be able to cope with the premier league. It's just depends how quickly he can adapt to the speed of the game. His age certainly won't be an issue anyway.

I'm guessing he'll be rotated with Henderson or Allen. I'm lead to believe he can play the Gerrard role as well. So we might see him play there as well.

Gerrard's heir in the deeper role in midfield.

I think if we play him and Henderson alongside Gerrard as a midfield 3 we will see our defensive record improve no end.

Rossiter absolutely bossed it tonight. Really believe he'll end up playing more games this season than Lucas.

Henderson won't make it here. Sorry but he won't and won't

Notice who else is in this photo. Our own oft-injured Yesil.

The first I learnt of Can was when I was trying to get some clips of Yesil (around the time we had signed him two summers ago). Most of Yesil's clips were from the International Youth tournament when he was in the German side and Can was the star of that squad. There was an article about the German youth stars (and their potential) and Yesil was one of the playesr highlighted as a potential top player, but Can was the absolute guarantee of a star (according to the author). I ended up looking at some of Can's clips (mostly for Bayern) and you could just tell he had the right balance of technical and physical skills as well as a touch of steely arrogance that a combative midfielder absolutely needs.

Two years on, and I can't believe we've signed him. We've scored an incredible coup, and quite frankly I'm more buzzed about Can's signing than Lallana's (don't get me wrong, I'm glad we finally singed Lallana). For those that want to get a feel for Can's playing style, I don't think the clips from last season truly highlight his skills and talent as a midfielder, it's far better to look at his highlights from the 2011-2013.

*Edit:  I've been trying to get some of his earlier clips but it seems they've been taken down (or removed by their creators) and I can't seem find them anymore. But rest assured, you'll get a glimpse of his potential probably within the first half hour he plays :wave

Agreed. Very excited for Can's future here, watched some of him when he was in the Bundesliga and he's class. Certainly not a purely depth player like some are saying.

The donation, the way he looks at the European cup, the fact he has chosen Carragher's old number.

Loving the waves he is making off the pitch, can't wait to see him play.

Very interesting info in the official interview he gave:

"I heard that they had an interest in signing me for a long time, approximately four years. We weren't in contact back then, but I had it in the back of my mind and then it got more and more intense. I was told about the manager's firm interest four or five months ago."
