Anyone been to paris?
« on: July 16, 2009, 02:29:03 pm »
Can anyone reccomend a decent hotel in paris, going to see the arctic monkeys in the Zenith in November, so anywhere between there and the centre would be sound.

Thanks

Hotel France Albion - Ive stayed there a couple of times.

Very good price, clean, nice rooms and 100 yards from St Georges tube station.

Try Googling  it.

Agree Etaps are horrible.

Although, if it's just somewhere to crash then I suppose it doesn't matter.

I was in Paris last year. We stayed further out, and used the metro to travel in and out of the City. It might not cost as much, and a good way to explore different parts of the City. That's if you plan on doing any kind of sight-seeing.

Paris is cool. Fit women. Hotels used to be a lot cheaper than the UK, though thats not fucking difficult, not sure if thats still the case as I havent been there for a long while. Best Italian restaurants outside of Italy, if thats your bag.

Stayed here in 2007 haven't checked the website since, the place is after getting one hell of a make over!

Great location near the Luxembourg gardens. Nice little restaurants near by(especially a crepe breakfast house), as well as a metro station.

Was reasonable enough 2 years ago, can't remember what we payed but remember that it was cheap. Its just outside the Latin quarter (only a few a doors away) in the Montrapasse district

Thought the people were alright if you tried to make an effort and use french they usually talked back to you in English. Hope your not going on the piss can be up to 14 euro for a pint in some places!

Rates at the moment
the CLASSIC ROOM 210 EUR
DOUBLE CLUB ROOM 250 EUR
TWIN CLUB ROOM 250 EUR
SUPERIOR ROOM 290 EUR

If you're on a budget then Ibis hotels start at around £45 a night per room in Paris.

I'm going to Paris in a couple of weeks. I'm relearning a bit of French (did A level years ago) before I go but I'm only there for 2 days so I should be alright ... I think sometimes there are good hotel deals around but I just booked mine next to the Gare de Lyon (basic, but was still £55!) because I have a train to catch from there that I can't miss at half 7 in the morning (not looking forward to that!).

We went in March for our first wedding anniversary, had a great time.  We did a walking tour recommened by Frommers (http://www.frommers.com/destinations/paris/0062020033.html) and over 3 days we saw everything that we wanted to.

Amazing place.  Fooking well expensive though!!!!!!
