77 Succession of corners for the Bees and VVD does brilliantly to clear it off the line. Another corner and Ali has to push a header away. We’re under pressure. A fifth corner I think, this time it’s an air shot. Finally it’s offside. Big let off, they had some big chances there. We stood firm.

95 Free kick Brentford after a foul by Diaz about 30 yards out. Into the wall and it’s FT. 3-0 Reds. Good today. Brentford weren’t bad but we dealt really really well with their pressure. International break before the trip to the Etihad.

Really happy with this team for the most part, feels absolutely astonishing that I was combatting bedwetting about United 'only being three points behind us' in another thread. We're not close to them. What we are is 3rd and nicely poised to challenge.

Have a bit of that. Such a difference from the past two matches, means we can put them behind us and move on. No better place to take a good result in to than that other lot in a couple of weeks. Salah will get the MOTM but I think really it should be VVD for being imperious at the back. None shall fucking pass.

Very satisfying and some really good performances.

Darwin in particular was unplayable first half. I thought Endo had a quietly impressive game.

We played well, I think the international break ahs come at a good time with some of the injuries and niggles cropping up.

Agree with others, our away form is somewhat of a concern, but if we can turn that around we'll be right up there. Thought we tired noticably in the second half, but might also have neen a tactic to contain energy after the 2nd goal. Roll on City in 2 weeks.

What the bloody hell though was the couple of minutes check on Endo's challenge. Ref was right in front of it and even in slow mo it looked a nothing challenge. VAR getting desperate.
