The Beginning of the end poem
« on: November 8, 2023, 08:12:01 pm »
Does anyone remember this poem? Was written after the 1st Murphy winner (the freekick) at Old Trafford in December 2001 I think.
Me and mate were pissed on the Saturday night and decided to ring a tout for two tickets on the Sunday (in our end). Cost us £75 each. I was working away and the used the hire car to get to Manchester, parked up by the ground somewhere and just the two of us went down to by the Lou Macari chippy and I asked this big Manc fucker for four cans. The look on his face was priceless when he heard my accent. Beat the fuckers 1-0, got home safe and sound, was a splendid day!!!

I've had a quick search of the internet but cant find it. Wondered if anyone on here has a copy the could put up so I can show my 16yr old who's bang into the football. It referenced Gerrard & Carra, Sami, and Henchoz I think but not by name.

Doubt it’ll help your search but it was December 2000. Was the 00/01 Treble season.
