Below par performance but got the job done and guess what all the narrative is gonna be eh - why didn’t he show Ibou a 2nd yellow. Pricks!
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

I embarrass myself for ever feeling nervous about a derby these days. The gap between the sides is a joke. Everton did enough to maintain a 'plucky underdog' status. Their fans overcheer a corner. Pickford fishes the ball out of his net. We keep a clean sheet. Has to surely be the most one sided derby in European football?

Dyche will definitely moan about not sending Konate off because it totally changed the game. Right Ally you dickhead? It had no effect on the fucking result.

Konate veryyyy lucky not to get sent off, which just makes it all the more hilarious. Perfect result for Everton really - a defeat but they can blame it on us being the devil club.

The sending off and penalty were obviously correct decisions. The sending off though helped them more than us, which is why I wouldn't have been overly concerned had Konate gone.

Elliott was class when he came on.

If Konate was sent off it would have been 5 reds for us without even a bad tackle.

The performance was meh but three points in the bag in an early kick off after internationals, will take that all day. Next three are very winnable so looking forward to max points from them.

Disgracefully biased commentary on TNT. Young's sending off was 'unfair', penalty was 'harsh', and don't even mention the Konate incident because they would not fucking shut up about it. Ferdinand spent half an hour trying to force an agenda until nipping off to his 'day job' which I can only imagine is having an affair.

Thought Jurgen had another great game there, managing that 2nd half. Great subs at the right time. Upped the anti, and over ran them into giving away the pen.

That was the most post-international Saturday early kick off performance we could have had. Lots of players off the pace, but thank goodness for the three points, and no injuries.

Congratulations to Everton for their 92nd minute corner kick that they so passionately celebrated. They’ll cherish that one for a while!

Top of the league. Szoboszlai and MacAllister had quiet 2nd halves. Konate’s yellow was needless and Klopp rightly took him off in order to keep things safe……Matip played well when he came on.

The right decision over the penalty as it doesn’t matter how close you are to the ball if your arm is out (otherwise you could spread yourself with your arms out to block a shot).

Everton defence well and we found it hard to create chances.

Mo…….what can you say about him? He made the 2nd look like a tap in. Great run and pass from Nunez.

Not our finest performance but playing against 10 men is never easy.

Honestly, it absolutely boils my piss when the ref gets blamed for 'ruining the game' for sending a player off.

The knobhead who got sent off has ruined the game, the ref is just doing his job for once.

Why was that handball being talked about like it was some controversial decision, it was clear as day even in real time, my question is why would the ref not give a handball when the players arm is at a 90* angle

That was a very well managed game by Jürgen Klopp and his coaches.

Makes me laugh how Beglin on the US coverage is saying that it’s a poor game (it was), like maybe mention how his employers, the TV companies share much of the blame for this?

12.30 after an international break, against a dogshit team like Everton - was he really expecting some freeflowing champagne fest.

All in all a satisfying victory.

3 key decisions - think the only one he gets wrong is the Konate one. Presumably the rationale is that Beto was getting nowhere near that pass, but it shouldn't really matter. Even if you erase the existence of the football, it'd still be a yellow as an off-the-ball incident.

That said, I'd have still fancied us to go on and win it at 10 vs. 10. Might have even been more comfortable, as Everton may have been drawn out from their back 5. They were susceptible to the counter all game.

McCoist was fine when he was on ITV, it's clear TNT/BT are pushing an agenda here, you see it with the kick off times, you see it with McCoists comments, Rio doing a Liverpool game, used to have that wanker Norwich fan as well chatting shit Jake Humphries or whatever. Think a closer look needs to be taken here as it seems a little dodgy
