No worries, I'm looking forward to this, but I guess my national team won't do a thing... the hardest group is th B one :(
Still they usually don't do a thing but I expect some nice football ;)

Group C also looks quite hard. It seems that the Argies got a pass for the quarterfinals quite easily then!

Looking forward to this, some football to watch over the summer anyway.I actually fancy Uruguay as Argentina and Brazil are in transition at the moment and Cavani and Suarez have been 2 of the best strikers in Europe this season.

How does it work for who plays who in the quarters/semi's?

Backed Uruguay e/w at 14s the other week.

Selfishly, I'd love to see Uruguay and Suarez win the whole thing, just to see a team knockoff the Argentina-Brazil duopoly at the top. Forlan has had a rather indifferent season at Atletico this season. Not too sure about the midfield, but I have read good things from Tim Vickery about Nicolos Lodeiro and he is one to watch for the future.

But a repeat of the last final would be phenomenal -- Argentina vs. Brazil in Buenos Aries. Lucas to win his first major honor?

If Mexico had sent its full squad to Copa America, I would tip them to be a dark horse, but they're sending their Under-23s because they're in the Gold Cup (CONCACAF's regional tournament).

Very much doubt Argentina can win with their rubbish GK and defence . Probably Brazil will win with easy once again .

Selfishly, I'd love to see Uruguay knocked out in the group stage so Suarez plays as few games as possible.

Group C does look quite tough, well except for Peru, of course ;)

I too am looking forward to this.  I'm hoping ESPN Deportes will be showing the games here in the states (I would imagine they should be).  I will be rooting for Uruguay and Brazil too (Luis and Lucas) but at the same time kinda hoping they get knocked out early to get our boys back in good shape for next season.

Hope Uruguay take it, or Lucas' Brazil.

Remember back to the Olympics in Beijing, Argentina won the tournament (and every game they played) with Batista as manager and a front three of Aguero - Messi - Di Maria. History to repeat itself this summer?

Unfortunately neither Sky nor ESPN have met the Argentina federation's asking price to provide coverage, so at the moment the best you can hope for is post-match highlights on Eurosport.

Believe the entire tournament is on Univision stateside, so no English language commentary.

I could have sworn I read ESPN UK had the rights somewhere ... yep, here it is:
http://www.football-marketing.com/2011/05/09/espn-snatch-copa-america-and-emirates-cup-from-sky/

And Group C, totally forgot about the Chileans, although Marcelo Bielsa is no longer the coach.

Also reading that there's a possibility that Riquelme might make a return to the Argentina national team for this one. Would be fantastic, that.

Thanks for that.  I actually enjoy Spanish commentary.  For one, it helps me to retain my very small knowledge of the language.  And secondly (and much more importantly) I don't get irritated by the commentators talking shit as I can barely make out every third word.

Brazil is definitely in transition, still trying to create an identity for themselves, so yeah I'd probably expect Argentina as the home nation or Uruguay to do something.

Tevez included in Argentina's prov 26 man squad.

He and Batista must have had a heart to heart.

Don't really think he has much future as a starter, but he'll be useful off the subs bench.
