Front of the kop/kenny

Judging by the Celtic half and half hats, I'm guessing this is around 85, 86? If I knew which match it was around that time, there's a fair chance I'm in there somewhere!

I said earlier in the thread that a really good book could be made with the pictures in here, so it's good to see you're actually working on it, Meady. I'd certainly be up for buying a copy. Maybe when you're signing copies at the launch in Waterstones.  :)

Second that! This thread is quality.

It was the best spec.

I think it was the Villa game in 1980 when Avi Cohen scored an OG and then made it 2-1 with his only goal for the club, I started out to the right of the goal, by kickoff I was the otherside of the goal ;D

Just curious what posters recall as the first developments they saw at Anfield...mine was seeing the Main Stand go up in 1971. I loved watching the progress of that expansion and been hooked ever since on further Stadium developments.

Anfield road expansion for me in late 90s. Remember seeing a picture of it being built in the official magazine of the time.

Seats going in the Anny was a major change for me, as it took a huge chunk out of the capacity and changed the atmosphere, the paddock was seated around the same time, can't remember which came first, but the Anny stood out as it was mad to walk onto the Kop for the first game of the season and see a totally empty all seat Anny Rd end.

Building wise, it'd be the Centenary Upper getting added to the Kemlyn.

I was on the kop for that game, the last round against auxerre is still my favourite night at anfield. Genoa were excellent that night and there fans were one of the best sets of fans I’ve seen at anfield.

Think it was Paddock first Rob. Agree with you though. Seating the Anny changed the ground. Used to love the old Anny Rd north and south although I was too young and too much of a shithouse to get involved in the South.

I took a cheapo 110 cartridge camera (remember those?!) on to the Kop in about 86-87ish and shot pretty much a whole roll of film. I know I've got pics looking up into the Kop from the fence at the front and pics down the steps at flagpole corner. I haven't seen them for decades, but I've got to go in to the loft to work out why our fucking shower pump isn't working again, so while I'm up there, I'll try and dig them out.
On the outskirts of nowhere, on the ring road to somewhere. On the verge of indecision, I'll always take the roundabout way.

Fantastic series of photos.

Two takes.

Is that Roy Evans a couple of photos up?

And I was a 14 year old in the Kop at the Ajax game. When I got home I couldn’t understand why my mum was worried after she saw the reports of the injuries on the telly.
