It's in! Morten Thorsby (Genoa) finds space in the box and from close range powers an unstoppable header into the bottom right corner after a cheeky lofted pass from Stefano Sabelli. 1:0.

GOAL! Superb work from Johan Vasquez, who plays a vital role in the build-up. He squares it to Morten Frendrup (Genoa), who beats Simone Scuffet with a brilliant shot into the top right corner.

Not so crazy. Inter, despite their financial struggles and lack of investment in the last few years, are the better run club. They have outgrown Milan by far, on and off the pitch. When the shit had hit the fan around February-March last year, Zhang, Marotta and Ausilio could have easily sacked Inzaghi there and then, but they knew he was capable of turning it around and he did.

Inter should have won it a couple of years back too, the year Milan won it (2022). They threw it away at the end with a couple of big errors allowing their rivals to pounce. Would have been 3 in 4 years alongside Napoli's comfortable win last season. Inzaghi has given them a big club feeling back again getting to the European Cup final last season which they really should have won on big chances alone.

Milan have only won three Serie A titles this century. Ancelotti won one in 8 or 9 years there but obviously had a great European record. It definitely isn't a good feeling about them at the minute, the Americans (I think the ones who have some links to FSG?) have gone in and made some poor decisions like getting rid of Maldini from his role.

Como being promoted would be interesting.

Marotta and Inzaghi have built an excellent relantionship and they both excel in identifying players who would fit in like a glove and play as if they have been Interisti for years. And that's on a shoestring budget year after year. They have already secured Zielinski and Taremi on a free this summer.

I would argue Ancelotti's European record is not so great given how he squandered not just Istanbul, but a 4-1 lead to Deportivo the year before too. His league record could be partly excused to Juve's cheating and Calciopolli, but lets not forget Milan were punished too and originally, they shouldn't have been in the CL in 06/07 either.

The thing is, you could say the same about Klopp though, he lost finals but it was still impressive to get there in the first place. Ancelotti got to 3 finals in 5 years himself as Klopp did. Outside of Madrid how many sides have ever really done that, especially in modern times. The Deportivo collapse was obviously similar to Istanbul in the fact they'd have probably gone on and won the trophy in the end.

Both us and Deportivo were far inferior to Milan at the time tho. They were the best team in the world at the time. Letting a 3 goal lead slip twice is a huge black mark for me. On the other hand, both times we lost to Real I wouldn't say there was such difference in quality between us so it could have gone either way.

In modern times, United and Bayern reached 3 finals in 4 years. Even Chelsea would have made it to 3 in 5 if not for Ovrebo.

How bad is the scheduling in Serie A... this weekends fixtures been confirmed just over a week ago.. next week's fixtures only came out midweek just gone...

Been looking at going to the AC Milan Salernitana game but unlike here on the final day where all games kick off at the same time, precedent suggests it could be played any time across the bank holiday weekend so got to hold off booking flights etc in case it's the Friday Night or the Monday...

Is this a goal for Inter

VAR Looking at it

No it is ruled off side

Lautaro Martínez (Inter Milan) right footed shot from the right side of the six yard box to the high centre of the goal.

But it is off side

Big result for Sassuolo. Other than Salernitana, the last two relegation spots in Serie A look like they might go right down to the wire.
