Baring injuries Naby looking nailed on for starting next season.
I mean you say that, but despite being head and shoulders above our other midfielders since the restart he's been inexplicably benched repeatedly, which is pretty representative of his time as a player here. Our use of him is weird, like.
Think our use of him since the restart has been entirely about managing his fitness and keeping him injury free
I mean I'd love to believe that was true, but you and I know full well that Gini/Henderson/Fabinho are starting 90% of our league games next year regardless of how Naby plays. And if it is fitness... well, if he starts against Chelsea that will have been two weeks between starts. If that's the best we can expect from him fitness wise it ain't great, even if I think he's a massive difference maker when he plays.
That's not the case. When he's been in form, when he's been healthy, he's played. Today doesn't change that.
He's started 23 league games out of a possible 73 he's been fit for... 7 starts this season, and only 4 starts before lockdown.I mean I know Klopp doesn't like to tinker much with a winning team, but it's clear he's not first choice. Personally I think he should be, based on what he offers that other midfielders clearly don't, but it's clear he isn't.
Being fit doesn't = match sharp and ready. That's why I said when he's in form and in rhythm. He's not the type of player who plays well right away when he immediately returns from injury. He's had a stop and start career her precisely because of the timing of injuries and the time it gets for him to be in form once he recovers.
That'll give him confidence!
Could we have your opinion on the second goal please 🙂
Pick. That. Out!
Wins so many balls in the final 3rd it’s ridiculous
The Test is obviously right
