That last pass was wild but he played some good passes to the forwards when he came on. Found Firmino a lot with his face to goal a number of times which cannot be easy against Burnley.

I mean you say that, but despite being head and shoulders above our other midfielders since the restart he's been inexplicably benched repeatedly, which is pretty representative of his time as a player here.

Our use of him is weird, like.

Absurd not to play him this evening given Ox's abysmal form. And frankly, given how little Arsenal offered, Gini was unnecessary so we could even have gone with both him and Ox.

Think our use of him since the restart has been entirely about managing his fitness and keeping him injury free

I mean I'd love to believe that was true, but you and I know full well that Gini/Henderson/Fabinho are starting 90% of our league games next year regardless of how Naby plays.

And if it is fitness... well, if he starts against Chelsea that will have been two weeks between starts. If that's the best we can expect from him fitness wise it ain't great, even if I think he's a massive difference maker when he plays.

Your spot on

Klopp knows how good he is and what he brings

This is part of a ten to twelve week period to make him resilient for the long run

Recent subs on 60 mins are all clearly Pre planned

This period is an extended pre season and naby will benefit hugely

That's not the case. When he's been in form, when he's been healthy, he's played. Today doesn't change that.

He's started 23 league games out of a possible 73 he's been fit for... 7 starts this season, and only 4 starts before lockdown.

I mean I know Klopp doesn't like to tinker much with a winning team, but it's clear he's not first choice. Personally I think he should be, based on what he offers that other midfielders clearly don't, but it's clear he isn't.

I agree that I’d have him in the first team, but I guess it all depends on fitness. If he can stay injury free for most of the season it would be a massive game changer for us potentially, but it seems to be a big if. What a player though. He can dance past almost anyone, and he’s so good at nicking the ball away from people.

Being fit doesn't = match sharp and ready. That's why I said when he's in form and in rhythm. He's not the type of player who plays well right away when he immediately returns from injury. He's had a stop and start career her precisely because of the timing of injuries and the time it gets for him to be in form once he recovers.

Agree with this. Klopp knows his value. When he is fully ready ... he will play more than he currently does

Immense in the first half but thought he faded in the second.  I wonder if he's still feeling his way back to full match fitness.
Sit down, shock is better taken with bent knees.
