Definitely morning and night, it's important to make a sweeping motion, as a lot of people make the mistake of pounding away.

I find Crest the best, but if i'm being honest, as long as you stay away from stain foods such as curries, i think as long as you ger the technique right you're fine.

What a fucking bump!

It's actually better to brush before you eat. If you can't leave it until at least 30 minutes after you eat.

Oh ok that's interesting, i thought the whole point was to clean up after you've eaten. Especially if you haven't eaten all night?

Your teeth should actually be 'clean' before you brush them, believe it or not.
The 'sugars' that stick to the teeth after eating, before saliva has done its job do more damage if brushed. Abrasive effects.
You should refrain from brushing for at least an hour if you shovel sweets/Pop etc down.

Brush before breakfast and right before sleeping. Can't tolerate having breakfast with a foul mouth. All that bacteria and excess saliva swarming in the mouth while I have breakfast? Never. Depends on what you want to remove really, plaque or food. I'd be more concerned about bacteria and plaque build up before eating. Also having something like a citrus fruit or juice that's acidic and then brushing means I'm brushing the acid all over my teeth and weakening the enamel. Put it this way, I might brush after breakfast if I feel I have food stuck in my teeth. But I will definitely brush before breakfast as part of daily hygiene.

3 times a day. After breakfast, after dinner, and before bed. Also got into a quick flossing routine all times before i brush too. Bring a toothpick to work for lunch. If i could brush me teeth in the van after lunch, trust me, i would.
Also use a smidgen of raw organic coconut oil on the brush too for the extra anti bacteria and whitening benefits.

After breakfast then before bed.  And I use one of those water jet things instead of flossing because I am literally incapable of getting my hands to understand how to floss correctly.

Half an hour after breakfast and before bed, I also use an interdental brush rather than floss, they clean between the teeth a lot better than floss and are much easier to use!

Yeah, there's a sign up in my dentist which says that. Sounds revolting to me to just swallow all the gunk you brush off your teeth though (no smirking at the back please)

One of the common things people forget, is to use the back of the brush to brush the tongue and inside cheeks.

This removes any bad bacteria, with a obligatory rinse at the end for good measure.

I always do 2 cycles of an electric toothbrush in the shower every day when I get home from work.
And then usually just before bed.

I rarely eat 'sweets', never drink pop.

I've not had a filling/extraction for over 20 years. So I assume I'm doing enough to keep them clean.

I'm the same, I did use to drink diet pop a lot but cut down a lot in recent years. I don't really like a lot of sweet foods and they're usually unhealthy anyway, although saying that I tend to be a cider drinker (although I like less sweeter drinks like Guinness as well).

Depends if the brush has one of those things on the back though? Some are just smooth and wouldn't remove any of the shite that accumulates on your tongue. I use the brush for my tongue

My dentist recently told me I'm brushing too hard, or using too hard of a brush, which is causing my gums to recede. (wtf)?

On another note, I'm dating an Argentinian girl. When she figured out I brush my teeth in the morning and before bed, rather than after every meal she looked at me like I hadn't bathed in a month.

It doesn't have fluoride in it but that doesn't mean it's not a great toothpaste that many dentists advocate, it's especially good for the gums.

Interesting point....fluoride is actually toxic and poisonous!

Yes, the harder you brush the more likely you will get gum disease. A soft sweeping motion is much better than pounding away, as the brushing motion makes a circular motion that covers the gums gaps and tooth.
