Brighton deserved something out of this but then again they'd have been belted in the semis by Spurs or Chelsea and I don't really want Spurs to have a free run to the final.

Meh, Spurs & United through and you'd have to fancy Southampton and Chelsea to join them tomorrow. Naturally United will draw the winner of the Wigan/Soton match, while I hope Chelsea dump out Spurs in the semi and then win it all. I don't like Chelsea but I do like Conte and I'd rather them win it than either United or Spurs.

What do you guys think about the fact that the semi and, if we make it, the final is basically a home game for us this season? I guess there's is not really any way around it but seems a bit unfair, not that I really care all that much.

The allocation won't be a home game allocation so it shouldn't matter

True, although some people put a lot of stock in playing at a familiar venue, being used to the pitch etc.

Really don't know who I want to win this game. Wigan fans are generally a gang of gobshites who supported Man Utd before Wigan started moving up the leagues. But they have Paul Cook who is a red as their manager.

And Southampton have Lesley Mark Hughes as their manager. Plus their fanbase isn't too fond of us either.

Depends which of the two is more likely to put up a fight against United in the semi finals. I'd back Wigan over Southampton to have a go to be honest.

Utd losing to Wigan would be the funnier scenario. Southampton have got West Ham away, Arsenal away and Chelsea at home before the semis, so would be more focused on avoiding relegation too.

Having quite a bit of the ball but haven't really had many meaningful shots, Southampton have had a couple of their own that have gone over.

It's a tough one. I think I want Wigan to go through. What swings it for me is that I really want to hear again about Dave Whelan breaking his leg in the 1960 Cup final.
