Rebrov in goal? I know his goalscoring numbers bombed at Spurs but that is harsh!!!

Promes is a miss for them. By some distance their best player. Pedro Rocha, Melgarejo and Promes were the three creative threats for them in the highlights I saw. Ze Luis gets in good positions too - he's missing too thankfully.
Blimey, how many players do they have out then?

The sight of two absolutely top class wide players in our line up makes me a happy man. Tears of joy stuff right there.

Klopp knows what he is doing, plus Flanagan might not come off the bench.
But if one of our full backs are injured, then he will.

Strong team either way
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Four names that just look fucking awesome next to each other, both on paper and on the pitch! ;D

Fucks sake - so here we go again inviting fans of other clubs to say that Liverpool are a one two three four man team.  We can't keep relying on these players and their supporting cast for crying out loud!

No Robertson?!!

I know Flanagan can cover both sides, but he was totally out of his depth against Leicester's reserves.

If they play with wing backs the same way Hoffenheim and Arsenal did, the Kutepov is in trouble. He's a tall, lanky center back who is in now way suitable to playing against Mane. Their wing back is also 33 years old. Having him deal with the pace of Moreno & Mane all night? It could be brutal!!!

Bocchetti on the other side should have a better chance 1-v-1 against Salah as he is more a fullback/center back like Alderweireld.

That's the best possible lineup we can field currently in every position in my opinion.

Two of what I consider their main creative players are on the bench. Promes is out. Ze Luis, who is a Hernandez type forward of vastly different quality of course, seems to be missing too. Shooting isn't great but gets in the right positions.

agree on that. On GK it's a tough call though as Mignolet has been playing well and Karius not having been tested enough this season.

Because United and Spurs have strikers who score loads of goals. We on the other hand have no one who scores at a good rate. Simple as that.

Teams goals are better than single striker goals as a striker can be in a drought but a team is more than one person

Looks like all out attack, hope we can grab an early goal and we could run through them. Obviously we may need some patience if we don't - they will be handy on their own pitch.

A win today would give us back control of the group (or at least share of the top spot), so lets go for it!

I assume that because Moreno is more experienced, never gets tired and never gets injured, we wanted a right back on the bench more than a left back. That's my only answer.

Don't jinx it...

I know nothing about Spartak Moscow whatsoever.

But I do know with Coutinho, Firmino, Salah and Mane starting we are a force for any time in Europe.

For some reason there always needs to be a problem for some on here when it comes to the lineup.

No, it's just a talking point. And for some reason talking points are always considered a problem for you in particular, as you've appointed yourself head of LFC Pravda

I suspect their goalie will be man of the match.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

Klopp recently defined the #1 as the guy who will play at least 80% of the games. So you just have different definitions of the term is all.

Great to see Coutinho in the midfield. Don't know anything about Spartak really, but looking at their line-up above with the 541 suggests it'll be a game where he'll be needed. 0-2 hopefully... would love to score early.

Was kinda hoping we'd see Studge start, but equally, looking forward to seeing Coulahmano that front 4 together.

The big 4 start together for the first time..

Does anyone else think we will play a 4-2-4 instead of a 4-3-3?

We are so fluid in the final third and likely to dominate possession.. I can't see Coutinho playing in midfield..
