For all of Henderson's abilities, turning on the ball simply isn't one of them. Klopp compensates for it by fielding Lallana and Wijnaldum next to him. Southgate is enhancing the problem by playing Dier next to him.

Exactly. They're in no way a good fit as a midfield pair.

Giggs should get the England job. If only to stop him being linked to every Premier League job that will become available and to stop hearing his monotonous voice on the tele.

Walcott and Lingard offer absolutely nothing.

The same can be said for all of them. Really poor in the final third but the build up is predictable as well.

England must take more risks with their passing, every player takes 2/3/4 touches before passing the ball, there needs to be combinations which include fist time passes.

The players just don't seem to see the options, at this level they must see more than one or two passes and must have a picture of where their team mates are before they receive the ball.

The problam they have is the lack of movement ahead of them, Walcott and Lingard just run in straight predictable lines in behind or to the ball meaning its easy to mark. It makes the passing slow and sideways as there is no ball through their midfield.

Lingaard is one of the worst I've ever seen. He wouldn't stand out in league one yet is playing for Man Utd and England. Luck right place/person right time goes a hell of a long way sometimes,

Lee Martin is fretting he may no longer be the shittest United player to score a Cup Final winner.

What has struck me the most is the lack of any personalities or likeable players in the England squad. Dier, Ali, Walcott, Lingard, Stones etc are all such generic moulded non relatable millionaire footballers who all look like they don't give a shit.
Yep I agree even if others might think personalities shouldn't matter. I'm not a typical Liverpool fan that despises England, I grew up wanting them to win and enthused over them right up to the 90's & 2000's despite some debacles. But now, I feel like I don't give 2 fucks, I feel distant from the group of players and I feel deprived of my boyhood desires by a cohort of pricks running round with some Liverpool lads.

John stones isn't a defender.

He makes 2/3 bad mistakes a game and is still made out to be the reincarnation of Gaetano Scirea. I wish I could be as bad at my job as him and get away with as much as he does.

Its the constant insistence on trying to play this idealistic footballing way at the cost of making fundamental errors. Like doing cruyff turns when he should knock it out for a throw, or letting the ball bounce because he wants to use his feet rather than his head. Even the best ball playing defenders ever out common sense before this kind of defending. Just ridiculous, he's not even that good on the ball,  half the time it looks unnatural and ungainly
