The club are really only targeting those that are buying tickets but not going to the games. Aka buy a £10 Bordeaux ticket and not attending as lots of people did.

They are not trying to combat touting here because the tickets are still transferrable to anyone aslong as you give their name an they have a passport.

I think there is a much more practical option.

Send a couple of LFC Stewards(which they do anyway) and have them stand on the turnstiles(or inside) Give out one token to each person that enters through the turnstiles. The token has a code on that you enter online say no more than 7 days after the game. Anyone who doesn't enter a code doesn't get the credit.................
Don't want to pour cold water on your idea mate - sounds fairly reasonable. Only problem is our TO. Several years ago, at Benfica away I think, they asked supporters to bring their fancards they bought tickets with to get 'scanned' at the turnstiles. The 'gizmo's' failed.....and utter chaos ensued, just 15-20 mins before kick-off !!

Might be being blind here but one thing is unclear. Is a scan of the letter of authorisation OK or does it have to be the original?
I would imagine a scan would be sound.

These 3 staff shouldn't cause a major fuss if they've got a queue of 1000 people waiting, this systems got enough criticism as it is.

I wonder why the club are asking for the person collecting a ticket purchased by someone else to produce their own membership/ST?

The only reason I can think of is to award the person collecting the ticket with the credit? I don't see anywhere that they have said this would happen but wouldn't surprise me after the match if they made an announcement to that effect.
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

Hi lads..

I don't know where else to post this, but I'll be looking for two tickets in Augsburg.

I'm not sure of my chances from reading the last few pages, but I'll be driving from Austria to Augsburg for the game. I only live 3,5 hours away.
It's probably chancing my arm a bit but if anyone has 1 or 2 extra tickets, because someone couldn't make it or they just happen to have 1 extra, I'm serious about buying them.

Like I say, I'm driving over there anyway, I'll be there from about 4pm on. If anyone can help out, please PM me. Thanks.

I think that you may be in the pub with the rest of us travelling without tickets.  :-\

Given we have to collect our tickets over there individually with our passports, I can't see how there will be spares. Try the home end?

One good thing about this ticket collection lark is that it will cut down the number of locals who have been given spares in our end at Euro aways, not saying anything against good reds who live abroad and went to the games but when we were at Ludogorets, Beşiktaş and Bordeaux there was loads of locals in our end and a few were giving the home support some stick, this could have turned nasty outside and a few innocent reds may have been attacked because of this.

How easy was adding the names of those collecting the tickets?

Was it done whilst setting the name of who the credits were under?

What did you have to do if you were buying but someone else is collecting? I got to text to say mine had been bought for me, but wondered what he'd had to do.
Cheers

I had a call from the TO this morning, tickets can be collected from 10:00 on the day of the game and they will be staying there until half time

Collection point is Zeughaus Stuben, 10 min walk from the station, it is a famous beer house in Augsburg

So they'll be sitting in a pub all day? ;)

Sounds ok to be fair...if things all go smoothly on pick-up, which I doubt somehow!

How easy was adding the names of those collecting the tickets?

Was it done whilst setting the name of who the credits were under?

Just buy as normal and go to checkout - Then there is a separate drop down, per name, to add who is collecting the ticket. Very straight forward.

When people bought a ticket in someone else's name did the confirmation state the name of the person who is collecting the ticket ?

No it didn't...The only time you see the name of the person collecting is when you input it. I took a screen shot of each name just in case.

Anyone else freaking out about this? I thought I'd try putting some in the basket and an error came up saying we had "either purchased already or had 2 in our basket"

Probably should just wait until 11...  :P
