Good, thought I might have deleted it when pissed one night.  Certainly isn't a patch on season 1 & 2 although it has had some decent moments.

I recently watches season 1 and 2, thought they were about equal, maybe one edging two slightly. How does three compare?

^^Maybe because it hasn't aired yet  :P

I didn't like Season 3 as well. Asylum for me was by far the best. the last one lacked the usual gore too.

I finished Coven last night, after binging over the last few days. It wasn't as good as the first two, but still very good. Maybe it helped binging it, rather than waiting a week (or more) between each one. It was a little more hokey, but enjoyable, nonetheless. Now to decide whether to watch Freak Show as it's on or binge that one...

Just to make sure.. the fun in the show is how utterly trashy and preposterous it is right?

Because if I were to choose 2 adjectives to describe the first two seasons, it would be those.

It's not enough to have one haunting.. there has to be a gazillion hauntings.

It's not enough to have a mental asylum and crazed slashers.. there has to be aliens, and angels.

I've watched a few episodes of Penny Dreadful so far, which is somewhat similar in tone, but that show justifies its hokiness with its name. American Horror Story, I keep naively hoping will actually turn out to be a horror story.

Which isn't to say there's no fun to be had. It's just the kind of fun that doesn't require suspension of disbelief so much as just accepting that everything that's going to happen will be at best, borderline idiotic, and laughing along for the ride.

enjoyed the previous AHS series, this one looks a bit like Carnivŕle, so could be promising!
re-watched Carnivŕle a few months back, (re-run was on FX or Atlantic, I think?), shame it was cancelled way back when!

It's definitely a pulp show, as the name suggests. But yeah, sit back and enjoy.

Freak Show starts in the US on Wednesday night, and I'm looking forward to it. It will be the first season I was as it airs. I've liked all three so far, with the third being the weakest. Bu the concept of this one is far more intriguing to me than witch school, so I have high hopes. And I'll probably enjoy each episode. And then read you lot beating it to death :P

For those of you who have watched it, do you see there being more ghosts, aliens and demonic possession in this series?

A typically muddled opener, the first episode of every season has been the same, but it was a visceral joy.  Beautifully filmed with some wonderfully grotesque moments.  I loved it overall.

Two bugbears, firstly, I could of done without the De Palma impression and secondly, the amount of adverts on FX.  I'll be downloading it from now on.

Played by John Carroll Lynch who is a more than decent actor.

Ahh, I saw Michael Chiklis' name in the credits so assumed he was the clown.

Really enjoyed the first episode, gave up on Coven with a few episodes left so hopefully this series is better. Still no idea what the Life on Mars performance was all about  ???

Recently started watching this on Netflix - and massively impressed.

Previously always dismissed it when flicking through the awful Netflix choice, but so glad we gave it a try.

Finished the first season and now two episodes into the second. Thought it was odd how the cast change characters etc - but seems to work well.

Currently in that "just one more episode" stage.  ;D

Binged the first 3 seasons over the last 10 days. Fantastic.

enjoying season 4 now too, about 5 episodes in.

I see they have American Crime Story coming out next year. So I guess the horror will be over. But would love to see how they tackle (presumably) gritty crime stories.
