Danilova in the first at Newmarket tomorrow. Skinny at 7/4 but very sweet on her after her first run.

I think she will win but no bet for me... I notice Hannon has a Frankel filly (2nd Fav) and that is a big danger.  The owner is a Maktoum..  i assume it's Sheikh Mo's son ?? Expensive game of one upmanship...  ::) :P

Consider an insurance bet. A few quid on the Forecast .. 1st Anghaam 2nd Danilova

That's how I would play it... Good luck.

Johnston has 3 in the race!  Bloody hell.   I don't like when trainers do that.

Stoute has the favourite with Moore booked- He is in terrible form and this horse will likely be over bet which means this is a good race to get involved in.

I like Indianapolis (Galileo) + trainer in decent form. Win or eachway .

Didn't see the race but Danilova got smashed up in the market. No NR that I can see.

Was 1.8 on Betfair (!!)

Nice winner @ 7/4. She did it nicely.

Hoping Expressionism can give Godolphin a treble but obviously very much less fancied.

Ryan Moore gets a lot of stick but when you see a ride like that on Laafy there you can't expect anything else. Legitimately it was one of the worst rides I've seen in quite some time.

Johnston has 21 runners today, it's impossible to gauge how they will run, Hochfeld being a prime example.

Wouldn't be surprised if Meerass wins the next, or surprisedfinishes last. Have had a small ew on Silent echo

On Maiden duty today. Few short priced ones + one that is perhaps more optimistic:

12:!5 Newcastle: Gift List - By Bated Breath related to winners up to a mile; stable in good form, short price.

12:35 Sandown: Yibir - Dubawi colt + top connections (Godolphin); short price.

13:10 Sandown: Favoruite is trying to break its duck for a new yard (0-14). I prefer Double Or Bubble by Exceed and Excel and related on dam side to winners over 1 mile.

13:35 Leicester: Soft Whisper - Dubawi filly + top connections (Godolphin); short price.

I will do a trixie on the short priced ones hoping for the best & a single on Double or Bubble.  8)

3/4 winners,  Double landed + single on  Double or Bubble @ a decent price.

Great work.

I got greedy and done a treble on the short ones. The Appleby horse that beat Soft Whisper looks really promising.

Playing up some winnings ... lets see.

Following Simon Crisford... IN form trainer + capable horses.   Two are fancied in the market (shorter than 4/1) ,

14:25 Newcastle:  Jash [Win]
15:10 Leicester:   Anjah [Win]
15:25 Newcastle: Stylehunter [E/W]

Just doing singles and a e/w  8)

Yeah unlucky Appleby had something special first time out  ... the exacta paid £7.10 and I forgot to do it.

Double or Bubble was 9.2 on Betfair (!!)  so I'm happy with that.

None of his runners ran to form. Frustrating but still a good day.

Can't believe 9.2 on that maiden:

Back on Maiden duty.

I am looking to see significant improvement from these selections. The more money and shorter in the market the better!

Haydock

15:45: Rival - Son of Iffraaj dam was a 2yo 7f winner so hopefully this one can win. Jockey booking is a big positive.

17:50: Do You Love Me 3,200,000 euro yearling (!) by Galileo (The best sire in the WORLD). Dropped in class here and should improve. Karl Burke stable is decent form and Ben Curtis is a great jockey booking.

Yarmouth

15:30: Kingmania - Daughter of Kingman for IN form Chris Wall stable. Caught the eye over two weeks ago when finishing 6th on debut in a Newbury Maiden ridden in rear and doing best work at the finish staying on (was 20/1).  She probably wants further than this 6f in time but hopefully she is ridden more prominently and can feature.

Windsor

16:40 : Atalis Bay - Marco Botti in decent form. Son of Cable Bay a relatively new stallion who has shown promise. 3rd last time
over 5f he should stay the 6f,

---

I might do multiples leaving out Kingmania because i'm not 100% sure about the trip for her as I think she may want further but happy to back in a single. The others look much more fancied in the market (as of writing).

Good luck

Update:

I have done the Ben Curtis double (Rival+Do you Love Me) and will leave it at that.

I plan on backing the others in singles.

The 5.50 at Haydock looks a warm enough maiden considering there's only 5 runners. The favourite has got rock solid form. It's been beaten 2 lengths by Miss Yoda (won the German oaks yesterday), 4 lengths by Katara (won a listed race by 4 lengths at the weekend) and a neck by Cosmic Princess (finished 3rd behind Katara in that listed race). With Buick on as well she'll take a stack of beating I feel, but I wish you the best Rebel.

Michael Bell is not in great form Gerry which is why i'm happy to take it on.  The Galileo filly is very well bred (cost a  fortune) and is hopefully improving as they tend to do. It'll be an interesting race and yes Buick is making the trip to Merseyside which maybe significant or not.  He has quite a few rides so hopefully his winner comes from those!

Heard the bad news. Racing abandoned there. Correct call.

As far as the punting goes double sunk but I still intend to back the Galileo filly. It has drifted to a ridiculous price.

Atalis Bay absolutely hacked up at windsor at 5/1 so in profit whatever happens.

Haggas is still in good form so can't ignore his runners. I thought he was tailing off. He is having an amazing season, his best for sure

Just had a quick look. Haggas is 3rd in the trainer championship:

I see the Derby 3rd who I’m not even gonna attempt trying to spell got beaten at short odds this evening in Ireland. Right now the form of the race isn’t looking that great. Interesting to see where Serpentine turns up next and whether he’s a class apart or it was a one off freak and he’s quickly retired “injured on the gallops”

The Derby is a hard race ... you rarely see them again ...

My favourite one for some reason was in 2006 (Sir Percy) for Tregoning (trainer of Mohaather)

Another one I liked was Camelot for Joseph O'Brien and AP O'Brien (father/son combination).

He was heavy odds on though ... Before this I believe O'Brien hadn't won the Derby since 2002 since then he has dominated it.

My first Derby winner. He then got injured and only ran once or twice more but was never the same.
Only got back into racing as an adult around 2005. Previously interested In the late eighties as my best mate at school and his old man were into it, remember Nashwan’s season well and all the good Henry Cecil horses from around them.

Had forgotten how close that finish was, also how horribly Horatio Nelson broke down, think I’d also backed him. Don’t think that Dragon Dancer ever won a race either. Hala Bek also spent ages injured before going to Godolphin and winning by a mile on his come back but never able to repeat. Dylan Thomas easily the most successful of that field but can’t recall many of his offspring bring a success.

Sea The Stars will always be my favourite Derby winner.

I was gutted for Dazzler Holland on Dragon Dancer.  Also Dylan Thomas was nice that came out of that race and I think Papal Bull for Stoute won some good races when he was older.  Sir Percy now stands as a sire for £7k

As for Tregoning he is having something of a renaissance . He had a very decent Goodwood festival. A nice 2yo that I can't remember the name of but he is a very good trainer when he has the ammo.

Some selections and thoughts for today (Maidens/Novices):

1:30 Bev Enderman - By Bated Breath for IN form trainer Paul Midgley. Slowly away last time (was 28/1) hoping to see better this time. I want to see money for this horse so if there's no money then I'll keep it small. (currently 6.4 on Betfair ... ideally want to see it into 5.5 or less)

1:45 Catt: The Circus - John Gosden doesn't send many to Catterick so this filly by Iffraaj has to be respected and looks fancied in the market. (as of writing)

3:45 Catt: Captain Magnum - By Kodiac for IN form trainer Archie Watson (he had a 2yo winner just yesterday). Looks fancied in the market.

4:40 Ling: With Respect - Trainer Hughie Morrison is a decent trainer on the All Weather and this beat Haggas' Cold Front last year who has since won his Maiden so fair form. Champion jockey Oisin Murphy booked and looks fancied in the market (as of writing).

Good luck!

4.40 at Lingfield is probably as good a class 5 novice as you'll see at the track all year. The favourite beat Corvair who's become a solid class 2/3 handicapper by 8 lengths on debut and he's ran reasonable in a listed race behind Malotru of Marco Botti, who ran Pinatubo to within 4 lengths at Deauville the last day. Exceptional collateral form.

Hughie Morrison's horse won a 20 runner maiden at Newbury, nothing has really come out and won anything of note since then that I can see, but there's clearly a ton under the bonnet to win a race like that and the extra half a furlong should help since he was doing his best work at the finish.

It's possible Brian Meehan's horse was an early 2 yo and hasn't trained on but some of the contests he ran in last season are so far above this level it's untrue; he ran alright in the Prix Morny behind Earthlight and a stack of other good types including Raffle Prize, Golden Horde and A'Ali. Meehan decided he'd like a jockey on this time too as Buick takes over from Luke fucking Morris.

Hannon has a couple in that we know very little about too. Just a red hot race for the grade and track.

Cold Front won his Maiden for Mr. Haggas last month at Haydock and came out of that race. Hannon's Rocky Dreams is a big price and could be a good eachway if you like that kind of bet but I think i'm sticking with Morrison's.

I backed one of Hugie's last night at WIndsor and it ran poorly.  Murphy was on that too.

Hannon is in top form and having plenty of winners so his is a danger even at a big price.

I will probably do this: small bet on Hannon's and bigger bet on Morrison's.

I do not like the Fav... Aussie sire... but the trainer is in red hot form.

Agree Gerry it's a hot race.

Market Update:

1:30: Enderman solid at 5/1. I wont know if im backing this until the off. Want to see more money for it.

1:45: A LOT of money this morning for The Circus: 4/1 into 2/1 now Favourite.

3:45: Captain Magnum solid at 4.8 or so.  Looks OK to me.

4:40: With Respect solid at around 2/1. Not a penny for Hannon's Rocky Dreams thus far.

Some selections/ideas for later:

2:10 Ayr - Like Cometh The Man by Dandy Man for O'Meara/Tudhope (good combination in the north). Will hopefully improve from debut.

7:35 Lingfield: Haggas bandwagon rolls on: I'm with Red Missile. I have to admit I dont know much about the breeding/stallion but like the connections (Haggas/Marquand) as their in great form.
