Haha that was a shocker all round. It was like a scene from Sean of the dead, slow ponderous zombies.

Hopefully Ali loses his licence as well as his purse.

BBBoC have already withdrew his purse. It'll be up to the promotor to strip him of the rest. No way he boxes on a Sky card again

Very good so far this.
Fitzgerald got a grip in the 4th, 3 rounds to 1 in favour of Fowler IMO.

I thought it might have ended up in a draw because Fowler was the hometown fighter, but Fitzgerald was the better fighter and no complaints from me.

Yeah, right result. When I wrote that I assumed Fowler would win the 10th but 10-8 the other way means Fitzgerald fully deserved that.

Don't think much of Liam Smith in terms of world level aspirations currently but he is domestically top 2, behind Brook for me but wouldn't argue with anyone who has him top. This went exactly as everybody expected it to, though I thought he'd get stopped to the body.

I would go after Sergio Garcia and then a big fight with Brook.

Hurd would be too much for him, Mungaia has already beaten him. Tony Harrison is more winnable but think he is rematching Charlo

I thought it was a decent tick over fight for Liam Smith and that Sergio Garcia would be a good step up from Eggington. I think he's got another big fight in him, I do just wonder if he takes too many shots to win it.

It’s a traditional thing. Hark’s back to old school boxing in small noisy halls where the Master of ceremonies would repeat the fighters names for the hard of hearing who may not of heard it first time. It’s just part of his style. I like Diamante. He’s a character. Interesting to listen to in interviews.

I'm interested to see what kind of a ban Kash 'Suarez' Ali will get for being an utter twat  :wanker I've heard up to a year. He is young enough to come back and not be very good at all.

Unfortunately, last night also means Price will continue to fight. I keep repeating myself but surely his 'team' must be telling him that he is done and has been for a long time.

We all know he doesn't have great punch resistance but his shocking conditioning means he has no ability to recover after being buzzed. If you are in decent shape, you might be able to get through a tough spell after being hurt. How has a man who was so heavily backed at the start of his career STILL have such appalling conditioning?

Every fight I watch Price in, he is fucked after three rounds. How does that happen? Serious question. What the fuck do they do in training camp? You don't have to have superhuman conditioning in the modern heavyweight era; just fight in a fashion that allows you to do 12 good rounds; like Tyson Fury manages. Apologies for the rant but I just don't understand how someone whose full-time job is to fight and be in good shape, fails to achieve even a basic level of conditioning.

For the record, my own conditioning is worse than Price's!  ;D

non-Boxing aficionado here in peace with a question...
me and me mate were having a bit of a discussion on knockouts yesterday...basically the mechanics of one.
to my knowledge, a knockout occurs when the head is hit and rotates violently making the brain rattle, then comes the fall.
me mate said no - it happens because the head rotating momentarily stops oxygen from getting to the brain..
what is the truth of the matter?

Price still sells tickets in this city. Plus he was a bit mouthy in this fight.

After his last one before Ali he was knocked out cold and it was really bad. He should have hung them up then.

He can't be in the discussion for Chisora or any of the fallout between Fury, AJ etc. I'm really disappointed that his camp still feels like he's in that picture.

There is still alot of research going on into the effects of concussion and head injuries as it's not fully understood. There are a few impact sports people (NFL, WWE, UFC and boxing) that have agreed to donate their brains for science when they die.
