The 'pitch' will become a public open space as part of the land swap deal to compensate for the loss of public space in Stanley Park. So nice idea but it couldn't happen.
Anfield Plaza has outline planning permission and the permitted uses are outlined in the planning approval.
4.2 As part of this application outline planning permission is also applied for
to redevelop the site of the current stadium (to be known as Anfield
Plaza) for a mixed use development including employment related uses
(Class A2/B1), combined food and drink uses and ancillary retail
(Classes A3/A1), community use (Class D1), residential uses including
that of a hotel (Classes C1/C3), and open space subject to an illustrative
masterplan and development brief. An artist impression of Anfield
Plaza is shown as Appendix 16.
8.10.4 Range of Uses Proposed
The development brief identified the following range of uses
incorporating a total floor area of 16,660m2 , and which are included in
the outline element of the application to include;
• Use Class A3 (Food and Drink)/ Use Class A1 (Ancillary Retail) –
4,000m2
• Use Class A2 (Financial) / Use Class B1 (Business) – 2,760m2
• Use Classes C1/C3 (Residential Uses – 4,450m2 (includes the hotel)
• Use Class D1 (Non-Residential Institutions) ie: community related uses
– 3,350m2
