I actually think we did in 1985 but have seen such little footage of the game itself I can’t completely remember.
we did

it was also the first time we wore adidas as umbro made our kit up until then

a strange one i remember too was spurs wearing a new kit for the 1987 fa cup final yet only half of the kits were sponsored (holsten)

Yeah, we'll be able to play in red because it doesn't clash. We were the away side last season and were able to use our red kit.

Twitter rumour that the red will match last/this seasons red (although the Footy Headlines leaks are usually spot on, so I’d be surprised if it’s any different to what we’ve seen). Away is white/navy and third is black/teal apparently.

Looking at the leaked away, looks like those rumours could be true.

Doubt the sponsors would be so understanding these days. I reckon Peter Moores himself would leg it on the pitch with the correct shirts if that happened to us on June 1st!

Has anyone got the new shirt?

Last one I bought was the v neck one from a couple of seasons ago, is the material is the same and the fit?

great story

God I remember having a shoot annual or something similar back then, and used to pour over all the pictures in every detail. I remember there being one of Tottenham players and some had the sponsor and some didn’t. It confused the hell out of 8 year old me. I think I thought that some of them just didn’t drink beer. Now thirty years later I have an answer.

Wondered myself. Looks too close to the keepers top but it’s greyer and has detail central so no idea.

That away shirt is fine.

I don't care if it's got blue on it. There's nothing wrong with blue as a colour, it's just that you're all associating it with the dross Everton serve up.

Yep, I really don't like it. It ruins an otherwise lovely goalkeeper's top and it also looks horrible on the white away.

I was going to buy the keeper's top, but decided against it because of the silly neck on it. In the club shop today they have a black training top similar to the keeper's top but with white contrasting and crest rather than gold. It has a nice neck on it too, but with the AXA logo. At £35 it's a lot cheaper than the keeper's shirt, so I'll be going for that instead.

Personal preference only, but the white away looks cheap and nasty to me.

Blue doesn't bother me either. We used to play in blue, so it's in our heritage. Personally, I wouldn't mind a proper blue away third kit. We could reclaim the colour, and the fallout across the park would be epic.

Can't stand skin tight tops.

It's a slightly slimmer fit and the round neck is quite a squeeze over your head.  Material maybe slightly thinner than the last couple of seasons.

If the shorts are midnight blue, could be a tribute to Shanks/Preston. Could look like the spuds, mind. Hope it’s wrong. Why don’t they just do white with red trim, black shorts, white socks, as we’re going retro again. Saw Sir Roger score at Old Trafford wearing that.
