Robinson definitely won't be playing, he's injured.
Yep, big shame for the lad as I think he might have been involved. He is out for a while I think too.

Think it's going to be the team we've used for all the carling cup games so far.

                                       Reina

Kelly                   Carra            Coates              Aurelio

                         Lucas             Spearing

Maxi                         Hendo                      Bellamy

                            Carroll

I hate to say it but I don't see this lineup beating Chelsea. But then again, there's nothing Kenny can do about it. On a brighter side, if we were in this position last year we would be absolutely f*****

Really hope Carroll starts.  Time for the lad to give Chelsea's defence big problems. Would of liked to see him make Terry look like a tit but he's not playing unfortunately.

I hope Lucas gets a well deserved rest. Luis as well. Carra & Coates are a pretty slow partnership but it can´t be helped I guess, definitely wouldn´t play Agger in this. I think Chelsea will probably play some reserves and youngsters as well, like Torres and McEachran so it´ll be an interesting game. Might not be so closed down as it usually is.

It will be tough, but I absolutely can see this lineup winning.  There's plenty of talent there, but more importantly it's how they work together.  2-0

Pretty ridiculous having to play tomorrow night really, hardly any preparation time at all. Don't know how to feel about this one; think we can win but depends on how tired we are and how well the team Kenny picks gels together if there's lots of changes.

There must have been an incident in training or something with Aurelio, no idea why he is left out there. Maybe it was also him Kenny was refering to when talking about sulking players..
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

I think Henderson will play. He is young, very fit and not an absolute nailed on first team starter.

I reckon we will have about 5 or 6 changes but it will be a very strong side. If Kenny can get us a Cup and 4th spot it would be a fantastic season.

Don't see why we should worry too much.  Carroll should be available; Bellamy is back in the mix.  Maxi as well.  Spearing is in there - how about Kelly?  Plus Terry's  ineligible.

We can field a strong side.  It's just a question of getting the result.

Grief-stricken Craig Bellamy ready to return for Liverpool

Tony Barrett

Craig Bellamy has been included in the Liverpool squad for the Carling Cup quarter-final away to Chelsea tonight, having missed the 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Sunday after the death of Gary Speed, his national team manager and long-time mentor.

Bellamy was so distraught at the news of Speed’s death that Kenny Dalglish left him out of his squad for compassionate reasons, the Liverpool manager admitting subsequently that he had taken the decision in the belief that the forward would not be in the right frame of mind to play.

But having trained with his Liverpool team-mates yesterday, Bellamy was included in the squad that travelled to London before the clash at Stamford Bridge and is expected to be in the starting line-up.

Dalglish may make several changes to the side that drew with City as he endeavours to provide at least some of his players with the rest that he feels the scheduling of the Chelsea fixture has denied them.

Angry that the tie is being played only two days after an exacting match in the Barclays Premier League, Dalglish reiterated his criticism of the Football League for not putting the match back and called on the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to intervene.

“Forty-eight hours is a bit irresponsible for the people who’ve organised the dates of the matches,” Dalglish said. “To ask any team or any players to play two games of high intensity in 48 hours is a bit of a joke.

“I don’t know why the PFA don’t say something about it — it’s their players. For me it’s difficult to understand why they don’t come out and say something. Or do they agree with it?

“We know we’ve got to accept it, although we don’t agree with it, and it won’t affect the application or give us an excuse in any way, shape or form.

“There’ll be one or two bumps and bruises, I would have thought, and maybe one or two missing, but we have a strong squad and we’ve made changes in other Carling Cup matches. It will be a late shout because we have to give everyone the best possible opportunity to recover.”

Really hope maxi gets a run out. Suarez would be good to come on if things still tight with 25 mins to go, worked well against Arsenal. Hope big Andy gets the goal he deserves. He's been unlucky to date. Have a feeling 'your man' may get one against us, hope I'm wrong.

Can't believe there's a game tomorrow night already. It's great as fans but I'd rather have to wait a day or two and have less chance of injury obviously.

Maybe Villas-Boas will go with some of the youngsters, but I'd be surprised not to see a strong Chelsea line-up tomorrow.  If we go there and win, that will be something like 5 defeats in 8 games? They need the boost of a win and have plenty of time to rest players until the weekend.  If anything, the fact that they have important games at the weekend and against Valencia means that they need to win tomorrow all the more, to get back to winning ways and prove they are over their slump.

I expect we will see mostly players who did not play yesterday, but to be bringing in Kelly, Carroll, Maxi, Bellamy is pretty good.

Sorry for the negativity, but I can't imagine we can produce a positive result tomorrow even we play well.
We already beat them once, and almost beat ManC... it is time for us to lose tomorrow so Mancs is still the only team that can get all the good luck.
