A game we got fucked over by the referee earlier in the season where we drew. Should have had a man sent off when we got the pen and would have been a comfortable game.

Never confident against Brighton, hope the international break hasn't knackered our players completely.

Fingers crossed for a stress and injury-free win!

1 win
3 for them (one in FA Cup)
4 draws - 2 at home and 2 away including the one in Covid where Welbeck won a penalty when Robbo won the ball.

We haven't beaten them at home since 2019. Lost when no fans there and last two were draws.

It was never a penalty but no chance did Robbo win the ball in that :lmao

My memory is that Robbo belted the ball up to the halfway line on the half-volley.  The penalty was given because in doing so he grazed the tip of Wellbeck's boot and Wellbeck launched himself into the air.

I think we win, but I think it will be close and perhaps by a single goal (late?)

A regular weekend game in the flow of a season I'd expect us to smoke this Brighton side, but International breaks have a tendency to disrupt rhythm.

De Zerbi should do the right thing here and kiss the ring.

Unless we're talking about a different definition of winning the ball, the actual video only strengthens my point. He just kicked Welbecks foot haha

It wasn't a foul because Welbeck ran then decided to collapse, not because Robertson won the ball.

Thanks for the OP Zlen. Very much a case of let’s just get the 3 points in the bag and see where we are at the end of Sunday.

Important we start off this final stretch with a win, then hopefully we can build on it as our squad gets stronger with long term absentees returning over the next few weeks.

Been a tough fixture for us in recent seasons but it’s time to put that straight.

been nice forgetting about football for a while. Think i needed that international break!

Its going to be full on now. Starting off with this game, we just need the result but itd be nice to have an incident free game - no injuries, a nice performance and a win

I hate playing Brighton.  They're like the new Swansea for us.  We never seem to get into our rhythm and at some point give away a dreadful goal to a player that scores twice a season.

Any kind of win will do but preferably one where we don't pick up any injuries.

This is essential to win as one of the others will lose ground.

The shambles of the Utd game has to be lesson learned and this game will be a case of "we've got our shit performance out of the way now so someone needs to feel the pain"

Feel the International break for once could work in our favour as everyone will come back raring to go after the squib at the theatre of delusions - we also have a few more coming back from injury as well.

Bring it on.

Brighton have had some absolutely shocking results this season. They haven't plateaued too badly this season considering they lost 2 of their more important players in MacAllister and Caicedo last summer, but they have been taken to the cleaners a few times this season, particularly away from home. 4-0 loss to Roma, 3-0 loss to Fulham, 4-0 loss to Luton, 6-1 loss to Villa. When they have a bad day, they have a bad day.

They're season is starting to fizzle out a little bit following their Europa League exit, but they're only 5 points behind United in 6th so are still very much in the race for Europe. Thomas Frank biffed his audition (for whatever slim chance he might have had) when Brentford came here, hopefully De Zerbi biffs it also.

Very true, I wonder if they've really been the same since Everton tonked them last season. Did feel like the sort of loss that really knocks you off course as it would be for most sides losing in that fashion against Everton. The break might have helped them but I think there's a bit of a limit to what they can do right now anyway. Given how much the game means to us (and hopefully another inspired crowd) I can see us putting them under a lot of pressure and it paying off. Someone said Mitoma is out which is nice to know. We should have won that game there earlier this season, I've only just remembered the Gravenberch miss at 2-1 and it's made me feel sick again.

The Macca disasterclass against Wolves following a gruelling international period is certainly worth remembering. Would like to think it's a one-off and he'll be alright this time around; especially with Endo's extended rest to back him up as the #6. Macca's influence has grown exponentially since then.

These may be the toughest three home points from the remaining games. Scrape a win somehow, deflection of a butt will do.

Massive two matches  ahead for us this week
We win both and are on the countdown .
I think we will gain at least3 on arsenals  goal difference
And be ahead by two points after Thursday night
2-0 sunday
At least 4-1 on Thursday  .
Happy Easter all .

They play out from the back very well which matches well against us. Hopefully,  they make a few mistakes and it's a comfortable victory. That Adingra lad is a threat with his pace.

Every game is genuinely a must-win now. We have two home games against Brighton and Sheffield United in 3 days which we HAVE to win if we're serious.

It doesnt match very well for us because of that very fact. They want teams to press them which is why we have found them a right pain in the arse.

Why all the panic , We have this ….

Brighton in all competitions have a 27.5% win away  and lost 5/6 away recently , conceding 14 goals

Luton away 4-0 and Villa away 6-1 …. Shows  we shouldn’t be over worrying to  much but not be complacent

I really fancy us Sunday, I think this will be the game where we catch them playing out with the press and punish them.

A lot will probably come down to us getting the 1st goal, I always worry about how many chances we miss before getting that 1st goal unless Jota is playing, hopefully this will be a game where we take one of those early chances.

Looking forward to seeing a midfield 3 of Endo-Mac Allister-Szobszlai being energised by our own crowd, and looking forward to seeing Diaz continue his upturn in form.  I can be a bit of a pessimist but I fancy a dominant 4-1 win
