We have been too quiet.  I've always been dubious about refereeing decisions for the last 20 years.  Call it paranoia or whatever but I'd hate for us to be in with a shout of a league title like we were 2 years ago and then a really dubious decision goes for the team in poll position and hands it on a plate to them.

2 years ago ?? You mean when Webb handed Man U 2 points against Spurs (with the penalty that never was) whilst we were robbed of 2 points against Stoke when Gerrard's perfectly good 'goal' was ruled out - the year we missed out on the title by, ooh, look at that ... 4 points  :(

after watching the highlights i have cooled down a bit and my stance has changed a little bit regarding the stoke penalty dont think carra was fouled just think he was out muscled and although the pressure was minimum a would say it is a penalty

second penalty incident on kuyt for me that is penalty his hand was out there and final penalty shout where Suarez pass is clipped of upsons hand ad say no penalty happened to carra last year when hes slid in and the balls hit his hand

It's so good to have Kenny at the helm. He's fuming, rightly so but is going about it in a much more professional manner than anyone else would in this league.

Sunderland - Richardson should be off after 6 minutes, ten men for a full game would of been impossibly tough for Sunderland and we would of won, no doubt.

Arsenal - Arshavin on Kelly was a clear, clear foul and it could of cost us the game if it wasn't for Reina.

Bolton - Two clear cut penalties and a pass back which was clear as day.

Stoke - Two definate penalties for us and a 50-50 decision for them for a pen.

You know, isn't it funny, how the refs can see decisions against us easily, but never for us? In the Bolton game, Marriner I think it was, could see that the handball in the first half for us was minimally just outside, and he didn't give us the pen. It wasn't, but it was very very close. Yet he couldn't see a fucking pass back clear as day and two other pens. I'm not screaming CONSPIRACY!!!! But it's fucking annoying.

yup... the recent trend for giving fouls against Carroll for apparently little more than brushing past his opponent (who doesn't even need to fall over for it to be given) is really fucking annoying as well

Not to take away from Kenny, butI don't recall a bad decision in the Arsenal match. In fact, we were a little fortunate as I think the Suarez one was offside. We were done by in the Sunderland match though. Multiple times.

tbf to KD he doesn't actually say there's been contentious decisions in our favour in each match. That our goal was given was probably an incorrect decision...

There's been a few occasions already this season when our players have been a couple of yards onside when put through on goal yet the lino has flagged.

The F365 article may not have been too bad, but the Guardian one is as snide as fuck:

Seriously, I should stop being appalled at the standard of sports 'journalism' in this country, but that one is bad even by the Manchester Guardian's standards.

right, so every manager who has a moan about referee's is "cracking under the pressure" and incapable of managing a top club basically then. Fucking outstanding journalism.

that is a truly crazy report.  this bit stood out particularly for sheer snidey twattishness:

Quote
That [i.e. not being disciplined for his words] may come as a relief to the 60-year-old but for his admirers there may remain concern over his loss of temper, the sense, even, that for the second time in two decades the task of managing Liverpool is proving too great a responsibilty for the club's greatest player.

also, what were the actual quotes?  the 365 headline claims dalglish demanded respect for his club from refs, but the quotes in the story didn't.  that's how i remember hearing dalglish's words (i.e. kenny's respect for the club's progress has to come ahead of his respect for refs).

the quotes in the guardian article look like they've been carefully massaged.  can anyone confirm?

Fuck the media. I thought maybe under Dalglish they would relent a bit with us, clearly it'll go the same way it did with Rafa. The fucking Mirror today ( load of shite I know but I just flicked through our match report ). It said, at the bottom little final note thing, that Stoke were ' fully deserving of the three points '. I mean what? Seriously?

Telegraph are reporting it along the "Kenny's cracking up" line as well.  Along with Indy and Guardian, they all seem to be misquoting Dalglish. I thought he said that his respect for LFC was more important than his respect for referees. The papers are quoting him as saying that referees's respect for LFC should be more important than LFC's respect for referees, which would have been a nonsensical thing for him to have said.

I always try to resist joining conspiracy theories, but it really seems like they's prefer us to crumble. doesn't it?

is there any basis to this (seemingly mangled) quote?  lots of papers seem to have run with it, including football365's headline but not their story.  were there other quotes beyond the bbc interview where kenny did actually say that refs were duty bound to respect lfc?

I'm absolutely fuming at that. It's blatantly written by a Manc, for Mancs, to wind up Liverpool fans. Any wonder it's the most read article on there?

Pathetic how these slimebags always muckrake any Liverpool manager with a spine and the audacity to stick up for the club.

Uhm.... cos it's easy to wind up most Liverpool fans????

Unlike most of the 'big' clubs, most of our fans are genuinely passionate about our club (plastic fans would have left after 2-3 years of not winning the title...).  So it is pretty easy to get us riled up...  It sells papers cos we'll buy them and supporters from the other clubs will also buy the papers to see how agitated we can get....

What Kenny said about the refs wrongful decision against us is factual and to speculate there's an agenda or conspiracy is not far fetched. Most of us who watched the league for a long while know that there's a pattern that united "lucky" decisions toward them are on a very consistent basis.

I am proud of kenny decision to voice this out in just the fourth game. The FA should look hard at themselves and stop the censorship and all related media's involved in the game. If they don't stop this obvious decision, soon even most hard core fans will turn away. If the game officials cant even make glaring decisions right then the fans have the right to be pissed and eventually stop going to the matches. Why? because its getting silly and it makes us look silly.

The FA needs to stop and think. this is kenny dalglish. Theres alot of pride involved this time. If we play our cards right, there will be great change for the better in the game.

To add, there is a breaking point for me in this stoke match. suarez over the top riled up protest against the linesmen over the hand ball and kenny's I will speak to the owners comment.

theres alot of implication and meaning to that statement and I believe there's something big might happen.

As articles go this one isn't going to win any awards. However it's not the worst i have ever read and in all honesty the jibe about Kenny failing to cope with the pressure of managing Liverpool for a second time is just gutter press. I think perhaps we could keep a tally of media cheap shots on RAWK. Maybe someone can start a thread on it?

I have always thought clubs unified with a siege mentality are the most dangerous so perhaps it is a good thing. Putting the refs on notice is something all good managers do and there is nothing new here. We have been a Non London based under performing big club for a long time now and therefore cheap shots in the media are to be expected.

Cheers. Much better hearing Kenny without the filter of somebody else's spin.

You just gotta love the way Kenny first says "My football club, Our football club, Liverpool Football Club..."

"... to impinge on the Club's success..." - A great phrase when said with such certainty.

Some people don't have the opportunity to watch the vids of after match press conferences. I wouldn't if i wasn't on Rawk, and that's the point. It's not reporting or news, it's fucking shit. It's been fucking shit for a great many years now, and it'll continue to be fucking shit unless something is done about it.

I think Kenny's about done with the nicey nicey talking if i'm honest. I'd only seen the bbc after match until just now, that's the first time i've seen that one. He's fucking fuming in that one, you can see it in his demeanor how much he wants to fucking lay it on the line about the sheer fucking incompetence of the refs that we've had this season. And before anyone mentions it, fuck every other club on the planet and what happens in their games. In OUR games, the refs have been worse than fucking dire. Why should our manager, our club and our players continue to tow the line of the frankly laughable "respect" campaign towards the refs when all it does is hinder us?

i think kenny's already talked to the owners, i think the strategy for talking about the refs will have been already decided now and honestly I think the owners will say "fuck the fines" just like the mancs do.

Kenny's spot on, unfortunately.  The respect route that we use hinders us compared to our rivals who willingly surround the refs, push them about, scream "you fucking c*nt" in their faces, all without any ramifications, the same with what baconface says about refs he doesn't like. Utd bully the refs into getting things going their way, especially at home, and I honestly think that we'll be doing the same from now on. We, as fans, might not like it, but i guarantee you if we win something it won't from being nice and respectful.
And when you find yourself along the untrodden path
Remember me with a smile, a drink, a gesture or a laugh

I do agree with your other points, but not with the bolded bits.

I do believe Kenny when he says he will meet the owners and take their counsel. The owners do come across as bright and LFC is after all their baby. Besides he's professionally obligated to talk to them first.

What Kenny has already done is make sure there'll be plenty of scrutiny on key decisions in our matches. Which, if I'm being honest, will be now more likely to go in our favour (correctly).

The idea that neither Kenny nor the Club are to be messed with radiates off him. Love it.

You just gotta love the way Kenny first says "My football club, Our football club, Liverpool Football Club..."

"... to impinge on the Club's success..." - A great phrase when said with such certainty.

That would make a great banner.
Don't blame me I voted for Jeremy Corbyn!!

I do agree with your other points, but not with the bolded bits.

I was thinking the same way as you the other day, but one thing comes to mind. The owners want 1 thing, and that's to win. I'm not saying that starting at spurs way we're going to be acting like shits, i just think that we're not going to be as.....polite from now on.

The bit in bold i can't agree with enough. He's fucking boss ;D

With Kenny's comments on referees and the whole Capello/Carroll thing from last week you can guarantee that the King in the dressing room is creating one of those LFC versus the world attitudes, it'll create a bond and then the next time we come up against a bellend of a referee like him yesterday, you can guarantee the players will try twice as hard to overcome him and batter the opposition.

With some of the fiery characters we have (Suarez, Bellamy, Adam, Gerrard, Carroll, Skrtel to an extent) it could have an impact.

Would really love it if it did.

You got that right mate, he is totally pissed off there.
We are Liverpool!

I might be reading too much into it but is the journalist really comparing losing our 4th game of the season to the latter period of Kenny's previous reign?

It was clear to me that Kenny was being the wily old fox he is and putting pressure on the officials for the future and at the same time deflecting from a game we should have won. Regardless, what a bunch of c*nts our sports journalists are, it's a clear agenda. Kenny should keep treating them like the parasites they are, it works for the twat down the road
If you can't trust Kenny, you need to find another club, seriously.
