Yeah they're all very slick sides - Havertz put on a clinic yesterday, looks awesome leading the line.

Looking at 2 Bundesliga table Bielefeld have a nice cushion at the top with HSV, Stuttgart and Heidenheim all separated by a point each. I doubt anyone in that relegation playoff spot would particularly want to face Stuttgart or HSV?

Stuttgart vs Hamburger should be better than any Bundesliga match this weekend. Bad form for Stuttgart though, only 1 point in last 4 matches. Hamburger not better though, 1 win in last 5 matches. It's like they've been trying hard to gift that 2nd spot to each other.

Just noticed FC Kaiserslautern are in 3 liga & a couple of points above relegation, what has gone wrong there i remember them having a couple of runs in the champions league & old UEFA cup around 2000. :o

Massive financial problems in the early 2000s brought on by an ill-fated attempt to compete with the Bundesliga's financial elite. Auditors discovered massive financial irregularities, tax evasion and a €50m debt.  The club were fined €9m by the German tax office.

At one point the club had to sell their stadium to the city for €58m. The city itself has a smaller population that is under 100,000. The stadium was expanded for the 2006 World Cup, but the renovation costs (which went overbudget) set the club back again. FCK had spent €20m on those WC expansion costs, but couldn't handle those expenses in 2 Bundesliga.

Additionally in 2012, FCK overspent trying to maintain their Bundesliga status. Then President Stefan Kuntz had advocated for the club to borrow €6.7m from fans in terms of bonds that was supposed to large help their academy development. That money was supposed to be repaid last year. They have since borrowed from their fans again and have had to resort to generous friendlies against the likes of Bayern to keep them afloat.

In 2017, the club's rent from the council was lowered from €3.2m to try to alleviate these problems. The club also tried to sell its youth academy, but that deal was declared to be illegal. The rent was lowered again in 2018 and the City of Kaiserslautern has had to step in. There also have been some attempts to secure outside investment that have descended into farce.

Looking ahead to tomorrow nights game between Dortmund and Bayern, wondering if yet again the absence of fans will give an advantage to Bayern? Certainly so far in the Bundesliga its been the away teams who seemingly have a lot of the advantage, especially against smaller opposition. But in this case, with the Yellow Wall not being there get in the heads of the Dortmund players? Hope the yellow and blacks can nick a win, just to keep the title boiling over nicely.

I was thinking about that before, regards the away teams record. But then I thought maybe it could even help Dortmund, they have amazing support of course, but at the Westfalenstadion they can get rather nervous and impatient. And in this of all games, that can make things worse!  But really, Bayern will feel confident regardless!

My biggest question is whether Dortmund can not shit the bed vs Bayern. Time for them to get their big boy pants on, cos this is their chance.

Last 5 seasons, they have won just 2 out of the 9 league games vs Bayern, 1 draw, and lost 6. And in those defeats they have shipped 27 goals  :o  And it's gone beyond being a coach thing.

They did win the home game last season of course.

Some really good points in there and you're right they do seem to have buggered things up when they've had the chance to win titles, basically their attack is their best point their defence is not so hot. Bayern's defence is better and they're pretty impressive in attack as well. For some reason, I do have a feeling they could just nick it. It would be the best possible news for the Bundesliga and get more people watching right to the end. We all need to BD supporters tomorrow night, just hope its a great game with plenty of attacking football on view. It's been an entertaining couple of weeks and its been great having some football to watch again. Come on Dortmund.

German u17/u19 leagues done for the season. 3 Liga to return May 30th against the objections of Sachsen-Anhalt and Sachsen: four teams are from those states: Magdeburg, Halle, Chemnitz, Zwickau. DFB also rejected a plan to split 3.Liga back into two parallel regional leagues,

Dortmund's attack is scary good and is easily one of the best in the world and that's even without Marco Reus. I just think Bayern are the more rounded team overall and I think the lack of fans will definitely hurt Dortmund and if this game was being played at a packed Westfalenstadion, then I would have Dortmund edging it but seeing as it's not I think Bayern will win by a couple of goals something like 4-2 or 3-1.

He won’t be their problem if they win tomorrow though!

Favre for all his messing around has done much right since the winter break. But of course the big blip was vs Bayern earlier in the season. Such is the nature of the sport, lose badly tomorrow and he’ll be back about 10 steps again.

But like I’ve probably said about a 100 times, it’s time Dortmund start winning trophies again, with this squad, they have to.

RB Leipzig first half was some of the best football I have seen in a long time. Total football. Every player giving 100%, the one two football was something else. The players in midfield were calling and showing for the ball, working in tight spaces and beating presses for fun. They kept their head and moved the ball with a purpose. Pass and move football, keeping it simple. They pressed as a team, and made sure when they had the ball, there was options for them.  An excellent coached team.

So many times, you see midfields not calling or showing for the ball (Because they do not have the technically skill or mentality to do it) and their team suffering. Not these lot, a joy to watch. Every player in that team, can do different roles. Can hold up the ball, show for the ball, pass and move, bombing down the wing. A really good team of footballers.

They should have won about 10-0 on the weekend.

Dortmund's problem is their manager. And lack of defensive solidity consistently
I think in the beginning of the season they lacked a forward and a midfielder to play like he wanted to. They sorted the first problem with Haaland and worked around the other one by playing 343 (and with Can they now might changed back to a 433).

I think Favre is an overall good manager, but not always an entertaining one. And I'm not sure he's good enough to take Dortmund to the other level. He did steady the ship after the horrible Bosz/Stoger tenure.

Teams for Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich:

Borussia Dortmund:
Bürki – Piszczek, Hummels, Akanji – Hakimi, Dahoud, Delaney, Guerreiro – Hazard, Haaland, Brandt

Bayern Munich:
Neuer – Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies – Kimmich, Müller, Goretzka – Gnabry, Lewandowski, Coman

Sancho starting from the bench again I see.

Hopefully we are gonna see a great game. Battles all over the pitch.

I never have very high expectation for this match up these days. Last season's game in Dortmund was a bit of an anomaly in the story of this fixture for the last 4 or 5 years

Fun start that though in the first minute  ;D So maybe it will be bright!

Haaland should have done better would have been a dream start.

Yep, Dortmund's record in Der Klassiker has been dreadful of late, including 4-0, 5-0 6-0, 4-1 & 5-1 loses.
