Our 2018-20 team had attacking threats almost all over the pitch - an electric front three, two full-backs who broke assist records and redefined established wisdom about what could be done from that position, ball-playing centre backs who held a very high line. The only "conservative" part of our team was our "functional" midfield. 8 stars, 3 water carriers, to put it very simply and reductively. With that balance and formula, we would have reached a points total record that would have stood forever if we had needed to in 19/20. We reached a level that would have been hard to improve or even maintain no matter what we did transfer-wise after that.

With the introduction of Thiago, I'm sure in an effort to not stand still, we arguably attempted to shift that balance to 9 stars, 2 water carriers - again putting it reductively. I never got why it was supposed to be obvious that that would make us better as a team just because he was undeniably a better individual midfield player than those we already had, rather than upset that balance. Still don't think the answer to that is obvious - great player who was a big part of a fantastic season, but a debatable and interesting question whether signing him was the best move for what our team needed overall IMO. RAWK didn't really have that discussion in terms of team balance IMO, you were just supposed to rate Thiago (which everyone did really, some just had caveats).

It became very obvious last season that we needed athleticism in central midfield. That's why we signed an athletic player in Szoboszlai and played him in central midfield, not somewhere else. It's not like it's some big mystery why that became his role in our setup. I think it's worked, for the most part, though he's going through a difficult period now.

Not sure why I didn't before but watched the Anfield Wrap Jürgen documentary last night on YouTube. Very well made and shows the impact he's had everywhere he's been.

Others on here will be able to put it much more eloquently but it was an absolute privilege having him as our manager. He's as genuine and authentic as they come and he also won us a shitload of matches/trophies while playing exhilarating football.

Setting aside the defendant's apparent desire to kill protesters - which I would have thought negates the self defence argument in any sane jurisdiction - it is mad that these open carry laws produce so many he-said, she-said arguments about who raised first, with benefit of the doubt always going to the killer, such that it becomes open season on anyone who carries a gun, or for that matter anyone who "could" be carrying a gun (you know who).

New Zealand did that to England a few years back, it's not that uncommon in NRL but that NQC might be the best I've seen

Here's NZ v England pass

I'm loving NRL this year, helping to de-Klopp me and get over the last couple of months

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
                         But O heart! heart! heart!
                            O the bleeding drops of red,
                               Where on the deck my Captain lies,
                                  Fallen cold and dead.

Gods, I will miss him. I fear I will be quite drunk watching the Match. what a glorious 9 years He has given me.
