Was at the bench yesterday despite being injured. Would love if he maybe signed 1 extra year and then joining the backroom staff.

I'd very much enjoy him becoming part of the backroom staff after he retires from playing.

EDIT: Also - basically our greatest free transfer ever, right? It's between him, Matip and Gary Mac.

Milner edges Gary Mac for me. Matip is great signing, but not quite there yet; in time, maybe.

I think Milner is miles ahead , 7 seasons and what he has achieved, he'd have cost 30m+ at the time we signed him

Nothing tops Voronin!

Klopp recently said if he could sign any of his Mainz players at aged 20 again, he’d choose Voronin. Seemed to insinuate he was too nice and perhaps didn’t make the most of the ability and potential he had.

Think Milner is nailed on to coach after his retirement, could he perhaps move into a player coach role with us after this season? He seems to travel to league cup games when he isn’t playing and I think Pep has mentioned a few times how important he is in training and the dressing room.

I know it’s a bit of a thing to say we want current players to move to the back room staff when they hang up their boots but in Millners case, he genuinely seems like he’d be a great addition.
Rafa Benitez: "I’ll always keep in my heart the good times I’ve had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager."

Millie for me by a large margin,  his versatility, skills and leadership make him worth his weight in gold.

he's a Swiss-army-knife of a player - having him on the bench is like having cover for 7 positions all in one (LB, RB, 3 midfield, RW and LW .... although you could play him anywhere and he won't let you down).

I would LOVE it LOVE it if he stays with the club when he hangs up his playing boots - which of course could be about 10 years from now.  he'd be great coaching the young lads.

Milner has so many outstanding attributes. Not just as a player but as a person.

His attitude towards life and his dedication to his own well being is a great example to anyone, not just other footballers. He is a sportsman, but also knows how and when to turn on the snide. He loves to learn and relishes challenges.

He was never the most skilled player, but he is savvy. He'd be excellent in a coaching role at the club because he knows how to drill the right qualities and attitude into young players. Could see him as an assistant manager one day, or even maybe in a physio role like Sir Bob.

He’s one of the club's most astute signings, free or not free. I reckon he does wonders for the club in terms of his behind the scenes leadership. You can’t have a slack day if he’s around. Top asset. Top person.

How does he keep going? Last night he came on and did his part to change the game. He does most of the "simple" things well and rarely looks under pressure. Great cross last night for Taki's goal.

Also managed his career well. As soon as he knew he was an afterthought for England, he quit right away to prolong his club career.. I thought Henderson could take a leaf out of that.

I think Henderson at the least will have his eyes on playing in the World Cup next year. Perhaps even the Euros in 2024 but nothing beyond that. Shame really, even if he was the first name on the team sheet for them I'd want him to retire.

Free kick all day long. He has two bites at aimlessly running into the player who is going absolutely nowhere. For someone who’s lauded for his game management, it was a really, really stupid bit of play.

You don’t give the ref a chance to blow. At 2-0, the plastics were dead silent and all we needed to do was to avoid doing anything silly and our most experienced player gave away a cheap FK in a dangerous area.

Yeah he gave the free kick away and he looked last ditch on a few occasions but at least he was busting his balls trying to get to his man. Can't fault his effort.

Utter stupidity with that challenge. He needs to be coming off the bench for the last 10-15 mins. He’s not good enough to starting especially when we have keita Jones and chamberlain on the bench.

He was ok for a soon-to-be 36 year old but the fact that we went with him over Ox and Keïta for such a big game says more about them.

I don't think he had a very bad game at all today. The free kick was soft but that's football and it has been for some time, I don't really have a problem with him giving it but I don't have a problem with what Milner does. In the Spurs game he started despite just coming back from injury and I thought he struggled but he always seems to have his moments where he gets the little things right, got us out of trouble a couple of times. Thought it was strange how he came on when we were a goal down at Leicester but ultimately the selection isn't great at the minute.

Into the last 6 months of his contract which I'm sure will be his last at Liverpool, possibly even as a professional. I think it's clear now he's lost a yard or two that he'd done so well to preserve for this long after so much football. His influence is going to be very hard to find in another player, and he's been an exceptional servant here. I think he'll play in the League Cup semis and I wouldn't be surprised to see him feature against Shrewsbury alongside a couple of youngsters, Morton and another.

The foul aside he was our best midfielder today, he worked exceptionally hard. He actually brought the ball out well a couple of times and got some good blocks in as well. He's not going to be picked every week which is right. But he has a role to play no matter how much others would like him out of the door.
