Whilst I get any Palastine/Isreal flags should not at this time be permitted I find it bizarre to ban other flags. The club or safety officer (generally jobs worth prick with power) needs to be reminded they don’t exist without the fans.

The only thing I can think of is that when the club were told about the Israel/Palestine flag ban, they did an audit of all the rules on banners and flags to show they are applying the rules across the board.

What's horrific about the historical surfer ?

It’s too white, too big, too piss smelling, the artwork on it is of questionable quality, it’s too busy with all the bits they keep adding on, and overall I’d be happy to never see the fucking thing again.

Kitsters one that we pitched in for on here years ago was fucking well better in all respects. Imperators flag are admittedly a different animal, but they too are all far superior than the shite surfer.

The surfer was much better when it was smaller. I always liked the Liverbird one done for (I believe) the Benfica game in '06. It looked like something you'd get at one of the big European clubs like a Dortmund, just smaller. Looked really cool though, should do more IMO we've got quite an artistic fanbase. That's if the club would allow them in now, like

Very sad and jobsworth behaviour by the club. But not surprising either. I'm in the lower Main stand for the European games and the stand is beyond sterile. Stewards are being constantly rotated and they have no idea how to interact with the fans. Only focus is on doing what they are told. I know it really is a thankless job and all their instructions are coming higher up but I don't see there being problems in the other stands.

Like I've said before. I hope he follows through on them taking his banners from club advertising and stopping them from profiting from his incredible banners

This is a joke from the club (Imperator stuff)

Needs some intervention from Klopp and/or people in higher positions of the club.

People will say it’s only a banner but when those core supporters (I.e ones who go regularly and actively drive the unique culture of our support) become disillusioned it’s a slippery slope. One that can damage supporter-club relations and can impact reaction to what happens on the pitch.

Seems such an easy situation to fix also

December Update...

'Having negotiated with the Club via Spirit of Shankly throughout November, an agreement was reached. The Club stuck to their position that my existing banners would not be permitted in the Main Stand due to their size, but in acknowledgement of the hundreds of hours of work that had gone into my personal collection of 8 banners, they offered to help to cover my costs in producing a new collection of banners to hang in their place, meeting the 2m x 1m size requirement.

The first of these was completed in early December and displayed at the Liverpool v Manchester United match on 17 December. The banner was fully approved by Liverpool’s Supporter Liaison Officer and by the Director of Supporter Engagement. The fire certificate was supplied and LFC requested the invoices to pay my costs for this and the further three banners currently in production.

Three days later, the very same Director of Supporter Engagement called me to say that the banners I had produced over a period of weeks at the Club’s own suggestion would not be permitted to hang in the Main Stand. After many hours of painstaking work put into these flags at the Club’s insistence, once again I am being told that my banners are no longer welcome in the Main Stand at LFC, whatever their size.

It is difficult to avoid the conclusion that someone in the higher echelons of the Club has decided to continue to punish me for having the temerity to rail against their incorrect (by their own admission) decision to refuse entry to my Endo banner earlier this season. I am shocked at the treatment being meted out by the Club to one of its most loyal supporters. Apparently “THIS MEANS MORE” is no more than a marketing slogan, and, it appears, so is YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE” at this point in time.'

What on earth is going on in our club?

The manager is screaming for colour and passion, and the club who trade off the reputation of the fans are doing everything the can in order to stifle it.

Sounds like someone at the club has gone rotten. They need to fuck off right away with this attack on the banner culture, which is part of who we are. Banners must be allowed to be individual and distinctive and of varying sizes and shapes and designs, not regimented or following some club set approved template.

Whoever is making this call sounds like they regard the banner culture as being too anarchic and uncontrolled and would prefer little plastic flags approved and handed out by the club.

In other words they disapprove of what makes us what we are. They don't get it.

It's beginning to sound like another Jen Chang thing and unless it's one of the owners who is leading on this then I suspect it'll end wih some idiot losing their job

Really disappointing to see but of course I'm not surprised at all. The atmosphere is just PR - actions speak louder than words LFC. All this noise of 'this means more' and YNWA is soulless when you're handing out leaflets telling people to sit down or have jobsworth stewards being c*nts to your supporters because they want to stand and support their team. There was a steward in 306 last week 30 mins before the game berating fans coming from the concourse and taking a picture of the new Annie Road stand, shouting at them to 'take their seat' - there was hardly anyone in the ground! If this is the 'experience' the club wants their fans to have, then they really need to tell the manager.
