I don’t think this would be applicable for United if they were in the same position as us. As others have mentioned, this is entirely on Joe Anderson’s condemnation a few weeks ago. He should be fucking ashamed of himself on the distain he’s done to the supporters in this city.

Nah, its a long drive from Surrey to stand in a car park, most wouldn't do it... ;)

If we beat the bitters, bet your life BBC will want the Crystal Palace game because we could win it in that.  ;D

SKY already have the game. Doubt they will relent on their "March and April" picks. BBC will pick up whatever is left

Touche.

It'd be bitter of me to complain about something so inconsequential but I'm going to anyway. Firmino missing is galling but unsurprising. Joe Hart and Danny Rose being in there odd, I suspect most people would have to Google who Rose is. And Alonso and Fowler not being there is rubbish though.

Aside from that, good post tubby :P

This is total bollocks!!! that we cant play at Anfield. where is the sporting integrity in that. Its saying our supporters cant be trusted. A bloody disgrace, plus we have fans all over the country not just in liverpool. Neutral venues will still have liverpool fans in those towns/cities. I am a liverpool fan and I am from london as an example.
where does it say we can't play at Anfield?
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

Not seeing anything to say that clubs can play at home.

The only mention of grounds seems to still support the idea of neutral venues;

"A number of clubs have expressed their opposition to the concept of using neutral grounds, including Brighton, West Ham and Crystal Palace. "

From Lawton earlier this evening

Liverpool are likely to have to play their remaining home fixtures at neutral venues when the Premier League resumes next month, The Times can reveal.

The Premier League clubs yesterday agreed to resume the season behind closed doors on Wednesday June 17 with Manchester City v Arsenal and Aston Villa v Sheffield United the first matches since football was shutdown on March 13.

The authorities are concerned that “key matches” — such as those involving league leaders Liverpool and London derbies — might lead to supporters congregating outside stadiums in breach of social distancing guidelines.

Which given the (admittedly limited) Bundesliga data might backfire on them. I can only hope the Dildo Brothers fuck off again. I have no real issue with West Ham fans, the ones I've met and talked to have always been sound but bullish and loud about their team and I've no issue with that at all. Lawton is now indicating that it is only the derby against Everton, and any home game that we could win the title, which would need to be played at neutral venues;

To clarify, it’s Liverpool home games when they could win the title - as well as away to Everton and City - that were discussed as potentially high risk by PL today. And other big derby matches. Remains a proposal at this stage and Liverpool will follow guidance of authorities.[/b]

if all games are at neutral venues then fair enough I guess but it's not fair that only Liverpool home games are played at neutral venues but no others.

Via there 'Pick' Channel they say, which is available on Freeview and Freesat. Starting with the Derby.

I would think teams in relegation danger are just as likely to have people show up, why aren’t they being mentioned for neutral grounds?

As per the tweet above from Lawton, it is for key matches, one example of that being a derby (so the Merseyside Derby sadly won’t be at Goodison,) or any other remaining derbies (I think it’s just the London derbies other than that,) and any home game where we can win the league has also been noted.

Given the above, I’d imagine that if a team were in a position that they could save themselves from relegation in a home game (or maybe qualify for the CL?) then that would likely follow similar protocol.

There is no neutral ground for Liverpool. There are always going to be more Liverpool fans whether it is up or down the country. Even if we were to play in Istanbul we will still have more fans than the opposing team.

Everton fans probably have more chance of turning up to any game Liverpool lose in (which is unlikely to be fair) to celebrate the only reason they're in football for.
