Anyone heard anything about this? Heard yesterday that were talking about playing it in Warsaw, but nothing concrete, I thought it was Moscow.

Its on UEFA.com anyway, Moscow-

Anzhi will play their group stage home games at Moscow's Stadion Lokomotiv this season – Udinese beat Spartak 2-1 at the Stadion Luzhniki in their only previous trip to the Russian capital.

Never been to a game in Moscow but have been on a few occassions.

I wouldn't say that it would be the best trip when taking into account cost / atmosphere / weather / crack with opposition etc. That said if you want to see a few sights everywhere is worth going once. I personally am swerving it and spending the money saved on an extra night in Venice

We can't make our minds up on it either, mainly because if Anzhi have more trouble in Moscow in their Home match versus Young Boys I can still see Uefa moving the match against us.

I will try this one. Travelling from Norway, flights from £160-200. Waiting for ticket news, hope to get a spare for this. Hope not UEFA mess it up a few days before kick off..

still waiting too mate, flight prices are still coming in at a reasonable price for the distance, that match you mention might be the decider to whether we go or not, can get a visa sorted within a week at cost mind but don't want to leave it to late in case i end up having to come to london in person to get it!

I got a bargin flight on Sri Lankan air who transit in Dubai on their way to Moscow, so i took the gamble and paid 233 quid return and hope the game goes ahead as planned. As per normal here in Dubai the Russian visa is hard work to apply for, lots of original documents needed to be courierd here and everything you try to do costs coin.
I think in the UK the visa is about 100 quid here it will be about the 140 quid that is lots of queuing up and time wasting trying to organize the relevant papers needed or pay a Russian travel agent here 175 quid and all sorted in 3 x days. :no :no :butt someone always making coin.

I will probably go for the last option to busy to take the other options.

One website I spotted has Celtic fans going to Moscow they charging 102 quid for the visa to be sorted.

Going through Thomas cook for this one....seems to be a pretty decent package, doing it independently would be horrendously expensive I think! Heard rumours that this one would be behind closed doors but seems as though there's no truth to those

you seriously need to think about avoiding them if you can mate, you can easily do the trip cheaper than what they are offering it at on their website no problem, i'd be extremely cautious of them just from their poor service in the past, i can't explain why but i have this feeling they'll cancel this trip due to lack of numbers as most i know have either booked already or are booking it independently

Yeah I've heard they can be a bit dodgy, but have no credits from last European season, my dad does but I couldn't take time off because off college. Only way of getting a ticket for sure is through them, don't wanna book flights and all that, then find out I can't get my hands on a ticket!

£550 (£606 for a single) for a flight that costs 250 and a couple of nights in a hotel?   My mates have booked a flight and 2 nights in a hostel for £180  ,  I've booked flight + night in a 3 star hotel for £250 .    I can see TC cancelling due to lack of profit numbers and leaving you in the sh*t if their track record is anything to go by.

There will be no problem getting a ticket for this - we couldn't sell out Bern which was a lot less hassle to get to.

the official channel (VFS) is straightforward but you have to fill in quite a lengthy form online , prin it out and send it by post. You also need a letter of confirmation which can be obtained from various travel agencies . Some travel agencies will supply this free if you book through them otherwise it's arounf £15 .  the Visa itself costs £50 plus £26.40 ''service fee'' and if you apply by post £7.40 for courier return of your passport. Also if applying by post you can only pay by bankers draft of postal order - which cost ne another tenner plus 6 quid to send it by special delivery .

All in all it's cost me about £115 to apply for the visa independently.   In the end I wish I'd done it through  one of the companies that do it for you - not much more in cost and probably a lot less hassle.

All down to what happens on thurs. They can't continue to play there if supporters are still getting attacked and players abused. Even the Anzhi players are asking to play their home Europa League matches away from Moscow and elsewhere in Europe....

Visa took just 8 days from posting off application to getting it back . I know some people are having trouble getting their letter of confirmation from their hotel .  I just applied for one from the link to this travel service put up in the other thread

http://www.visatorussia.com/russianvisa.nsf/visa_requirements.html

cost $20 US and was returned by e-mail within a day of applying so may save hassle if people are struggling with this - and obviously didn't hamper the application as I booked a hotel seperately so details didn't have to tally with where you are actually staying ( not that I could understand it as it was all in Russian)

Just hope the match in played in Moscow now !

I haven't heard of any problems last night in Moscow, so I guess it is now very likely the match will go ahead in Moscow as planned? Think I will take the risk now, sort out travel over the weekend and familiarise myself with the visa requirements.

Got this form them today -

''Yesterday evening you may have received a communication from us regarding European packages. This email was previously sent in August and due to a technical error with our mailing system was sent again last night.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience or confusion caused by this email. We are currently working on the issue to prevent this from happening again.''

Doesn't exactly inspire you with confidence  -  although it looks like their trip to Moscow will go ahead as there are only 2 seats left.
