as a manc who chipped in to help set up AFC Liverppol-I just wish more of your support would realise that with passion and belief you could share the incredible journey that we at FCUM have enjoyed culminating in an incredible night in Rochdale.

The premiership football model treats fans with disdain-the only answer is take a deep breath and rebuild from scratch-its incredible fun.
I feel truly honoured to of met some of the fans of distant never heard of clubs who work week in week out to keep their clubs afloat. As a 48 year red (manc variety-sorry)I can remember the shit days but success breeds complacency and I have now rediscoverd my true love watching a team in div 7.

You guys already have AFC Liverpool-so build em -it needs 1500 fans and a 150 volunteers -with that you can achieve anything you like.

Now I'll feck -aplogies if I'm not welcome-ta

Nice one. Football needs more people like this, no matter who you support. You'll be fine around here as long as you don't spout shit and are always willing to back up your arguments. You will get plenty of stick, sure you have anticipated that though!

All the best AFC Liverpool. Although we'll have to travel down from West Cumbria we will try to get to watch you soon.

Never knew we had a player from Republica Internationale on here :)

Nice blog - and yes, it would be great if there was a little more info on how they are getting on what they do in the community etc (seems you're one of the only socialist teams out there on the internet).

Hope you get to go to an AFCL home game soon mate.

When they started there was a massive publicity campaign, perhaps its died off a bit. I am not sure but I seem to see less of them in the local press. I think coming up to Christmas they might need to put life into a campaign, an awareness campaign ?

The local press are not very good at covering non league mate, ask Bootle or Marine. Everything the Club does gets given to the Local Media, we have no say in what they print. A few of the lads who follow AFCL think its just a lack of interest by the Public as well. I personally get to see them fairly regularly, though I`m still following the Reds first and foremost, AFCL are my 2nd favourite team if you get my drift, few other top Redmen go occasionally. Still 150 average home attendance is disappointing, I know the board are working hard to get a place within the city boundary, if this is achieved who knows, but they need support that is a fact.
LIVERPOOL FC SHOULD NOT PLAY A GAME OF FOOTBALL ON THE 15TH APRIL.

NOT THIS YEAR OR ANY YEAR.

Fair point about the press mate. Having done some sork with Marine in the past I know how awful the local boys can be.

Having said that there are some other opportunities available to AFCL, Have they approached the Club with a view of playing a league game at Kirkby ? The publicity for both the Acadamy and AFCL will raise the profile. I seem to recall that the club is supportive of AFCL and an accomodation surely can be made by the club.

Perhaps one of you guys contacting Frank McParland or Brian Hall would be a way forward ? They can only say no ?

I have often been asked what the relationship is between being a a lifelong United fan and a founder member of FC United, similar I'm sure to what many AFC Liverpool fans are asked in relation to LFC.

well hopefully the following clip filmed before our away game at Brighton in the cup will explain how we answer this. Yours truly is the idiot threatening to nut the Glazers-sure if my mum was alive she would be very proud -not.

Sorry if I sound harsh or anything but wasn't AFC Liverpool formed as a kind of protest against the Tom and George and show? (I maybe wrong, so sorry again if my thinkings are false)

Fc United were set up because the Glazer buy out -funded by debt that the club would have to pay back, was the final straw for some 3-4,000 long term United fans.

SKY TV altering kick off times at their every whim,  ALL SEATER STADIUM ( I know it is a very sensitive area ) rising tkt prices -crazy players wages etc etc are what had been chipping away at many auld arses as you guys might say for years.

As I said in the vid clip above it took something really bad to happen for something new and beautifull to be created, and the inevitability of more and more working class mancunians being priced out to repay debt to hedge funds was just too much for many, me included to stomach.

So we took the nuclear option and with a good wind in May 2012 we will play our first game at Ten Acres Lane, Newton Heath.

That's a big sized football pitch, I thought there were regulations for that sort of stuff?
Congrats on getting your own ground though (unless I misunderstood the post and that's not your own ground), must feel good to get a proper home that's yours and not someone else's.

Playing away to Daisy Hill, the team that's 2nd from the bottom this Saturday if the weather allows it, most of the last games have been postponed. Lost at home to fellow promotion contenders Runcorn in the last game so we need to bounce back now and this should be a nice opportunity to do so.

£37 is the cheapest ticket at Anfield nowadays. How they expect the average man on the street to afford to support them every week at that price is beyond me! I've never been to an AFC Liverpool match but I definitely will be going in the near future. £5 to get in...Can't argue with that!

Dumb question:  Since AFCL won the Northwest Counties League First Division in 2009-2010, why weren't they promoted to Northwest Counties League Premier Division?

Oops.  I got First Division Trophy, i.e. some sort of knockout competition, confused with First Division Champions.

First division trophy is just a knockout tournment between the team in the first division, which we have won 2 years on the bounce. Afc lost 2-0 on the weekend to wigan robin park and drew last night 1-1 promotion dreams taking a bit of a battering, still alot of games to be played though!

Dont think theres any reserves or academy players there at the moment, a few might of once upon a time, im not to sure on all there past careers. Regarding pay is another one im not to sure on really.

Afc beat bottom of the league team rochdale 3-0 yesterday, played alot better yesterday and the first 2 goals were brilliant hits.

I did not know where to post this so please point me in the right direction if I'm out of place.

I live and work in South Wales but I have a sister who lives in Canada. Her son is 15 years old and a very gifted striker. I am trying to see if I can help him get into one of the youth academies in the UK. Can someone "in the know" please give me some information about Liverpool's academy and where I should write to in order to enquire about scholarships for foreign talent? I would be ever in your debt.

Also, if I wanted to speak with someone from the club about getting a scout to go and watch him play, or perhaps inviting him to Liverpool for try-outs, who could I write to...I mean what would be the best avenue for pursuing this type of information?

Thanks in advance for anyone kind enough to respond.

Best regards,

Morgana

AFC Liverpool's final league game of the season on Saturday 30th April, 3.00pm kick off - a home match vs league champions AFC Blackpool.

Liverpool will cement a 3rd place finish if they manage to win - so please come down and cheer the lads on.
