Honestly I'm as gutted for him as I am for us.

Yep.

I knew we wouldn't be on cloud 9 for much longer as that's how football is, but it's a pretty shitty blow to two of our younger players who have really impressed so far to be our for the entire season.

Only played the last 30 after having a week without a game (although he'd had a minor injury that necessitated that). Seems a stretch. Just really unfortunate.

Starting from the 20th of Sept though.

45 min in Norwich 20th Sept
90 min in Carlisle 23rd Sept
90 min n Villa 26th Sept
61 min in Sion 1st Oct
75 min in Everton 3rd Oct

That's a lot of playing time with very little rest there.

Klopp said he had a lot of patience for young players when out injured, so that will extend for Danny as it does Joe.

But still awful timing for the lad, really bad.

Time for Origi to show what he can do.

Hopefully Ings comes back ASAP. Was a really promising start.

Don't think there is much you can do about this type of injury mate, same as with a broken leg, just one of those unfortunate freak things that can happen to anyone at anytime, hope both him and Gomes recover like, partisanship aside for a moment it's horrible to see any player go down with such a bad one

Are we able to recall Markovic?

Heartbroken for the boy, football can be so cruel at times, hes been our stand out player so far this season.

With Sturridge and Origi our only two fit strikers until Benteke returns, do we opt for a striker in January?

If we can keep them fit (when Benteke returns), 3 could be enough options, with other players able to play as striker in emergencies I guess.

Just so sad for Danny. I think he was getting better by the week and seemed to be on the right track until this happened. So unlucky.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Tragic for him. He must be devastated, being desperate to play for the new manager amidst all this excitement of his appointment.

Hopefully Benteke is only a week away from fitness and we can survive with him Sturridge and Origi.

If we are playing 4-2-3-1 then we may be OK......

Best wishes to him for his recovery.
