Fair enough, just my opinion mate, dont you like any of the three I have named?

Heh, no, just the name Roy "Chubby" Brown makes me wince. I'm more of your cerebral stand up comedian type person - well, as stand up comedy goes.

I like the mid 90's Eddie Izzard, Steven Wright, Bill Hicks. Even Mitch Benn is worth a chuckle, he's not too well known.

I only have vague memories of him from my childhood. Are there any mp3s available that I can listen to? Shareaza, Bit Torrent?

Found this guy called Russel Peters. He's an Indian bloke born and raised in Canada.

Not the funniest in the world but worth a mention.

Really appeals to a young asian audience more than anyone else but have a look anyway

There was a Canadian called Mike McDonald did a routine on Saturday Live in the mid 80s was fucking amazing.

He had a prerecorded tape which had loooads of crucial, tight cue points in it. Basically the set up was he was a little kid and he was asking his mum an dad for a guitar and an amp and speakers, so they bought them for him, then he's in his room and (miming to this cassette, not playing proper songs or owt) was doing this kid in his bedroom learning the guitar. It was absolutely hilarious. I had it on tape but it got chewed :butt

I'd pay for a copy of it...

Watched an Eddie Izzard DVD over the weekend, I just remembered. Was pretty funny, but still prefer Connolly.

Bill Hicks is without doubt the funniest stand up ever. Combined with that ground breaking view of the world it was head and shoulders above the " have you ever noticed " brigade at the time.

Daniel Kitsons best of the bunch now although seeing Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas at the Frog and Bucket when they were starting out was something special

Now as said by someone else Lewis Black! If you like Hicks you really should get some Lewis Black, same vein of commentary about politics and its stupidity, and general topical stuff.

Cheers for that , hadn't heard of him before , sounds pretty good

www.sacredcow.com some nice taster clips on here. also you can buy cds dvds etc

for you delictation, one of my favourite bits;

I personally do not believe in burning the flag. It's a personal belief, but I'll tell you something, I think people are overreacting, oh, just a little bit. "Hey buddy, my daddy died for that flag." Well, I bought mine. Sorry. You know they sell them at K-Mart for three bucks, you're in, you're out, brand new flag, no violence was necessary. "Hey buddy, my daddy died in the Korean war for that flag." What a coincidence - my flag was made in Korea!
