Was a decent final, shame the other team only got 1 on the connect 4 wall as it made it a bit of an anti-climax for the missing vowels round.

Pointless and Only Connect are both very good but I feel like they'd benefit from not letting Vicky Coren or Richard Osman write their own jokes, because both are pleasant but excruciatingly unfunny.

I quite like Richard Osman but he has a really weird dynamic with Alexander Armstrong, which is strange as they seem to have a close relationship. Just doesn't seem to work on screen and comes across as super awkward.

Given the success of it and that they’ve done over 1200 episodes.... I’m not sure it’s as awkward to others as it might seem to you..!

I thought the number IP address wasn't a palindrome, as it had the dots in, not just spaces?

I like Richard Osman, he's great on a lot of things he's showing up on. I feel like Victoria Coren-Mitchell purposely has weird quirky jokes as it kind of fits the show.

Don’t mind Richard Osman but you’re definitely right about Only Connect. Kind of ruins the show for me.

The same is true of University Challenge. I know it’s Paxman’s schtick to be grumpy, but it comes across as needlessly harsh when he snarls at some nervous 18 year old who’s never been on TV before.

We should turn this into a general thread for quiz shows by the way.

It's fun but doesn't have the same red herrings that Only Connect does and by default, once you have three connections it gives you the last one.

I think I've found my niche - I can do the clock puzzles almost instantly. So that's what they mean by idiot savant!

Yeah, I am certainly no genius but it does need to be a little bit tougher. Red herrings and a time limit would sort the Claire's and Alan's out from the Pete, Crosby Nick, and Tubby
