I imagine Klopp and recruiters were aware of all his weaknesses and thought they can help him out with coaching. It's fair to say it has failed miserably. His link-up play has improved this season but the bottom line imo is that he's built for a transitional side rather than one facing low blocks every game.

Slot will have his work cut out for him trying to figure out how to incorporate Darwin into a potentially title winning team.

Not playing out from the back so slowly will help at a minimum.

Jurgen Klopp's job is to manage Liverpool Football Club. Players should always be subordinate to that reality. Salah has created a drama that serves no constructive purpose. To be crude about it it is Klopp's job to remind him and any other player of his place in the jungle. Their was Liverpool before Salah and their will be a Liverpool after.

Their is no doubt that statistically Salah is one of the best player's in the club's history. With our title challenge petering out Salah chooses now to throw a strop. Given his age it might be in, Slot's interest to move Salah on as an offer will surely come in from Saudi Arabia in the summer.

I feel sad for Klopp that his final season is petering out as it is. We lacked the defensive solidity and chance conversion to really see it through. Also have to acknowledge that Arsenal and Man City are excellent sides. I don't think Klopp's announcing his leaving has affected our season. If anything it should have served as a galvanising force to propel us towards another league title. But it hasn't.

I feel sorry for Klopp he has only one league title here to show for a truly monumental job he has done here. He is leaving the club in a better position than he found it in. That is the true barometer of a manager's impact. I wish him well for the future and am truly grateful that he guided us to the league and the Champions league success. It was beyond my expectations. Danke Jurgen.

Thanks VR - but it doesn’t work. Most BBC2 channels are showing women’s rugby. BBC 2 WALES is showing Flog It, Eurosport doesn’t work on red button.

I'm off, and while I know it's not an airport and I don't need to announce my departure I did want to say thanks to everyone who's been nice to me on here over the 20 years I've been a poster.

I don't know what the fuck we're doing as a forum or a fanbase any more and I'm contributing to that as well.

This place is no good for my health and it's my own responsibility to break the cycle.

Enjoy yourselves and don't break anything.

Hang around, JP, you'll find that part of what you feel now and part of that reaction is of our own doing. I've been through that myself. I was very active around the Fukushima disaster, I felt useful and could contribute to this community. But then I got disillusioned by some events a bit later and felt that I'd never come back. But I did (for better or worse).

Go have a drink, get a rest for a bit, and come back to check if we've trashed the furniture here.

Its why I don't expect Jurgen to say a word against PGMOL or the refs after he has left, as he knows they'll just take it out on Slot and the club.

I've just seen the Gakpo decision. Oh my God, that is absolutely shocking.

There was no legitimate reason to blow the whistle. He then gets the 'keeper to collude with him to cover his error. That's willful dishonesty right there. It's totally indefensible.
