Weird that we were only talking about him the other day when he was on Sky. Massive loss, always thought he was a really effective player (I said this to you at the time) and you don't play to the age he did at the level he did without being a great pro and looking after yourself.

Thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Gary.

Yeah, especially with Wales improving so much under his management. Begs the question how long he's been dealing with this. Totally gutted.

Reported on G.O.S at the end and camera obviously didn't go to Vinnie, Respect to Sky for that

I think Kammy will be in bits just as much - get the feeling Ben Sheppard was told but instructed not to let Kammy or Vinny know as they would be a mess.

The world has lost a great man in Gary speed I'm devastated spoke to him yesterday morning why ! Why. Why !! I'll miss him so much x
He come to watch strictly 3/4 weeks ago I high fived him in the front row he loved the show ,he loved life he loved his family ! Devastated
He was upbeat on phone yesterday we were laughing together , talking football and dancing he was a great teammate and a great friend #RIP

this makes it an even bigger mystery,

I'm completely gobsmacked at this news, feel properly sick about it. He was a great player and has done so much for Welsh football. He will be sadly missed. Thoughts are with his poor family and friends, can't begin to imagine what they are going through :(

Fuckin hell, ive just read it's suicide now. What?!

Manager of his nation. He's building the most exciting team Wales have seen in recent memory. He decides to take his life?

Unexplainable.

To be honest if anything should have kept him alive it should have been his wife, kids and family and not how well Wales are doing or the fact that he's their manager. God knows what he was going through that not even those things could stop him from doing it.

I know from personal experience that you can be in the depths of despair but when talking to other people, you put on a mask and smile and laugh.  However, the minute they leave the mask slips and the emptiness and desperation kicks back in.  My heart goes out to his family.  Maybe people will be a little more understanding towards Stan Collymore now.  You may not like him, but he has his own demons to face aswell.  I just wish Gary Speed had been able to win his own personal battle.

Seriously?

Well yes, i am serious.

I'm a huge football fan, more than a Michael Jackson fan. I didn't have much time for Michael Jackson in all honestly. I did for Speed. Whenever he spoke, he came across as a good guy.

It's not only that. He was young, healthy looking, and a constant figure on television recently. He had just started his managerial career in a great way. It's the randomness which has shocked me. My dad is his exact age too. It's all that which has left me stunned.
