We aren’t buying a six I think. There isn’t a single one out there that transcends ‘solid’ or ‘prospect’ categories - and we have both of those already in the team. I think we’ll stick with what we have for now.

[🟢] NEW: Senior figures at Anfield have dismissed genuine interest in Alan Varela and believe his agent to be the source of the reports breaking out of South America.

@ptgorst

we can rule out Varela he isnt what we need anyway.
Ederson Atalanta looks a good option but really you wouldnt want to overpay for him. 25 & barely featured for Brazil.
I think Ugarte on loan would be a great option rather than overpay on a DM as the market isnt great.

If they do that, then all decisions will be left to incompetent referees. Semi automated offside should see improvements next season.

Didn't the Conference League final have semi-automated offsides? Still took an absolute age to clear up the winning goal.

It's not going to solve the farce with offsides that's been there since this ham-fisted technology was brought in.

Djokovic 2 sets to 1 down against Musetti. Tactical medical timeout in 3, 2, 1...

He won it in 5 but wasn’t at his best at all.

He has Cerundolo next.

I dont balme him wanting to move either. Absolutely loathe the way he's going about it though, no doubt on his agents' advice to push through a move. The window isnt even open and he has started to make all the wrong noises. If he is really at the level he thinks, 20 million is quite the fair price going for center halves at that level, so this can only indicate that some club wants him on a cut price deal.

To be honest, I am not arsed that much. We've dealt with asshole agents quite well under Klopp. He's basically gone though, where I was hoping to see him in pre season where he could maybe show up as a good squad option across the backline.

He definitely wont be the last. There'll be a few that'll want out, especially amongst the ones on loan or on the fringes.

Klopp is all about character as well as ability. Those quotes don't read well. If Klopp gets a whiff of that kind of attitude then it's no wonder he's been loaned out the last few years, whereas someone like Quansah has got his chance and took it.

If he doesn't want to turn up for pre-season looking to fight for a place at Liverpool under the new manager (a fellow Dutchman, a place clearly up for grabs) then we'd be well rid.

He wanted to give them, two players who had peaked, new contracts, slightly different I suppose to outright selling an under contract young player who may or may not be first team level.

I'm pretty sure if Slot said 'don't loan him out, I reckon he could make the first team' they probably wouldn't.  Maybe I'm naive but I don't think the manager's thoughts just get disregarded.

There's got to be a process of Slot assessing players in pre-season and having his own input though.

If it was up to the number bods then Quansah probably gets loaned out again last summer or Bajcetic the year before.

Slot is ultimately key in how well a player does in a Liverpool shirt. Edwards must have learnt that from the Rodgers era.

The Tory MP posting election adverts in different party colours and having "Labour for Largan" is being investigated for election fraud.

Haha,
I read the article (in the telegraph admittedly).  I suppose, if he is a popular constituency MP, it's not unreasonable.  A bit desperate.
(I still cling to the belief that some MPs , even Tory ones, do actually mostly do good).

Is it a bit mad that we have local MPs representing us nationally? Are there many conflicts of interest in doing this? I can't imagine much national policy contradicts what would work locally.  Probably what makes sense is for 'big' government to set things like general tax levels, but leave spend on say hospitals or care homes to local councils?  Maybe we should elect the head and key members of local councils at the same time.
