I don't think he was great by any means but the guy put a fucking shift in. Chased everything like a fucking pittbull!

Fair enough but I thought he over-elaborated at times and at other times he gave the ball away. I got very frustrated with him.

Klopp naming his man of the match as Flanno..

Its like his not allowed to make any mistakes, every great LFC CB has made mistakes - there human.  Its like he any mistake he makes is critiqued even when they dont lead to a goal - its nuts!!!
I mean to be fair, he can be inconsistent when he comes back from injury - people aren't necessarily pulling his mistakes out their arses. But he's by so far and away our best defender, it's unreal. Unfortunately because of the way he so sharply splits opinion, he gets pretty heavily scrutinised during a game. As such he can have a MOTM performance against Man United and then a mediocre performance the next match and people start saying things like "he's completely out of form", when he's just simply playing his way back in.

Anyone know the chances of getting tickets to a cup final? Not a regular by any means so im rightly bottom of the list, but not even sure how many tickets go to fans and how many to londoners cause they live in london.

Brilliant result. Joe Allen deserves more playing time. Like Samson his strength seems to be from his flowing locks.

This.
In fairness I think many were calling for his inclusion from the start, he certainly deserved it. Besides that Can looks absolutely fucked and needs a break!

From the Guardian minute by minute report:

" GOAL! Liverpool 5-5 Stoke on penalties: Lucas ambles up and sends Butland the wrong way. He smashes the ball back into the net and gives the Stoke fans the big one. Lovely aggro. "

That's the attitude and fire I've always loved from this lad. And it spreads throughout the squad. Great fuckin night.

The team that deserves to win is the team that scores the most legitimate goals. Clinging on by scoring when off-side is not "deserving".

There were 200 minutes and over that period it was a stalemate even with the help of the linesman. The better team won on penalties.

Milner and Lucas took theirs well when the pressure was on them.

One way he could conserve energy is to not run at full pelt from one side of the pitch to the other and then run it out. Its then a long way back.

....apparently the 'marginal' offside was sorta of cos they deserved it for their effort.....didn't know that rule of playing well means its ok to score and offside goal....oh and he casually forgot we should have put tie to bed in first leg.

Must admit his comments made me smile.

We worked fucking hard got rewarded for breaking the rules, but fuck it we deserved it.

Great mentality !

Let's be fair. he did admit it was offside, leave it there and his interview was good. They WERE the better team on the night, we can't argue about that but we bossed the first leg and got through - so fuck off with this bollocks, we deserved our offside goal Mr Hughes ? Offside is offside

I would call it a nil-nil draw. Stoke had no shots on target over 90 minutes other than the goal so they were as bad as us.  We outplayed them during the first leg so overall we deserved to win.

Anyhow.......we are at WEMBLLLLEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY.

As for what I said about Carra, the glasses thing was banter but the next question he asked ( can't remember now because I'm well fucking gone :P) he did the sarcastic take the piss face to his answer which wasn't good imo. No biggie ,still love him but he shouldn't of done that IMO.

The amount of times he read it the right way was very encouraging.

Is Sakho the new CB punching bag? I think I find it more bizarre because unlike constructive criticism over Skrtel's tendency for offsides, or lingering concerns over Lovren's horror start to last season, there really is not much to consistently lay at his plate. There always is some line like "he makes x amount of mistakes a game." Oh really? Yes, he gets beat at times at various moments of play, but everyone does. If he just punted it long all the time, I guess that would make him better for some people? I can only imagine their feelings when he chested the ball in the box tonight. haha

Sure, he has not been at his stellar best in the last few games (Utd aside), but people don't have a clue if you are blaming him for their goal. Same would be said for Lovren, Skrtel or anyone else. More of a bonus if you can block that cross after having to pull wide to cover when your LB puts in a poor challenge and shows no hustle to get back. Plus it was offsides, plus there was no LB. No idea what he or anyone could of done better there, unless you have the speed of Ilori or something.

Also did a pretty good job doing something he supposedly can't against a much taller player - head the ball. (Which is no doubt something he can improve on - his performance against Giroud must still give him nightmares) And that ball drop moment. Regrettable, but if you've ever played - those happen between players. So what? Anyways, hope he can get a rest because he looks to be not 100% fit anyways. Still a fighter who is putting his body on the line, making forward runs and trying to pump up the crowd in ET!

Not sure what standard people have of a CB, especially one with an awol LB and a CB partner who is kinda just "there." Can't wait till Lovren gets back to get that partnership going again.

Highlights of the game.

The 4th official having to hold Klopp back from bollocking Moreno. :D
Benteke's & Allen's penalties.
Big Mig's stops. Fair play for coming up big!

Also, it is clear the team is tired. Not every game is going to be a masterclass.

We are going to Wembley. End of!

Lucas for me, he was immense - His penalty and celebration were awesome - Migs did well both in the game and with penalties but fuck me, he still scares the shit out of the players around him. Tonight it was good to see him command the area, just as he did at the same time last year, when he proved what he can do.

When he shits himself though the whole side and fanbase follow suit.
