Real Madrid are a really hard team to like. They were even indulging in a bit of timewasting in that half. I really hope they get dumped out soon...I'd almost be prepared to support Man City against them.

Almost.

Ok first half, we've had a few chances but so have they.

3 goals needed in the second half? We've seen that a few times before.

Believe!
Some clubs were always destined for greatness...

Dont think Jota is fit enough for this fight to be honest. Still lacks match fitness. Nunez and Salah have looked up for it big time. Gakpo doing well in a less familiar role.

Heads up lads, we can at least leave the stadium with a win.

Allison has been immense. Jota still not quite there but he is coming back from a long lay off. We havent conceded and we did score 6 in the second half against united so it can be done. I came into the game with no expectations so I wont be losing my shit like some..

There is still 45 minutes of football left to play..score an early one and it will be game on. I know we arent at our best but anyone thinking we cant score 3 in a half of football needs to have a lay down.

RM get far too much respect in my opinion. They are good but not fucking invincible!

Problem is thd lino waved immediately (funny that) and the ref blew the whistle  before the foul.
So even if he turned out to be onside, play had technically stopped.
Meanwhile, all RM mile offsides have been allowed to play out.
Ref is a complete homer too.

The one where Ali had to make that crazy save was offside before as well I'm pretty sure. Lino never gave it.

9 shots apiece, some amazing saves and the bar being struck suggests otherwise.

Agreed. Someone else called it a borefest. Must be new to football!

We're doing OK, but it all feels a bit pointless.

Think this is a good summary. Perfectly decent performance away at RM.

Think to have had any real chance we'd have to have taken one of the opportunities that came our way. Enough half chances to get a goal if our finishing had been sharper (if nothing gilt edged). You get one and see if Madrid wobble.

But we've left it too late now. Pressure is very much on us to score three goals in 45 minutes, let alone without the risk of one of their top class forwards getting one on the break.

Our corners are generally awful. Given Robertson and Trent's crossing ability it's crazy how often they fail to beat the first man.
Aren’t Liverpool statistically one of the most dangerous teams from corners? Don’t all fans think their team is bad at them?

Good stuff would bite your hands for 0-0 things could have been much worse, we have restored some pride.

Also if we are in Europa next season, it's probably a good thing, who exactly wants to get knocked out by Real Madrid for the 100th year in a row.

There are some twats out there (Nacho, Valverde, Rudiger etc) but I have massive respect for Kroos, Modric and Benzema. They're like the Milan team of the mid 00s, just ooze quality and no bullshit. The Spanish lads are mainly the c*nts, a la Barcelona, and Spain themselves.

Disappointing not to get a goal but we’ve kept working away. Shame the ref thinks everytime a Madrid player falls over it must be a free kick.
3 goals gown at half time in the CL, haven’t we been in this situation before…

They are so good. Jota has not been in it and they make a couple of passes and completely take 6 players out of the game but that's what we expect with the formation.

They're not so good mate. We would smash this Madrid team in our prime.

Even when we have players behind the ball we seem quite easy to pass around. I know I've been an advocate of changing our style of play when we need to, ie harder to break down but we seem unable to effectively shuffle across the pitch in any disciplined manner anyway.

Joint first in the Premier League for goals scored from corners, it's a stat that has me scratching my head to be honest, but it's a stat nonetheless.
