I heard James Bond

I had a listen last night - couple of excellent tracks.

However, the rest sounded rushed.

Got halfway through the Liam Gallagher one and gave up. It's not bad, but it's just exactly what you'd expect. You can usually spot which Beatles/Lennon/Stones song prompted him to write each one.

Only got onto the new Tool album yesterday, and have had that on non stop since. Brilliant.

Personally I have no problem with some artists producing stuff which is exactly what you’d expect. His brother’s current stuff, for example, is about as far away from what our expect as it’s possible to get and I find it unlistenable.

Each to their own but I love that kind of stuff so the more that gets made the better.

Argh, I decided not to go to their Copenhagen show after all. I wish you didn't say this now.  ;D

Uff, that Lana del Ray album though. Dang.

Didn't notice her mentioned here, but the new Alex Lahey album is an unexpectedly enjoyable listen, a bit like Courtney Barnett, but it may be just me associating one female Australian singer with another...

Ah forgot to sing the praises of Frankie Cosmos live; delightful band, really tight musicians, she has an incredibly charming yet awkward stage presence that really works with her music, and her voice is even better live.

That's a great description. She seems so confident in her vulnerability. It's a great vibe to be honest.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

It's great isn't it. It's like you worry for the first 2-3 songs that her voice will break or something else will break, and then you realize that it hasn't and even if it would it's be fine.

Will definitely get in there. You can fling shit at them for sounding too Sonic Youth like, as i did, but have loved every listen.

Indeed, fanastic.

A couple of shouts about recent live shows on here this last few days - I went to see Marika Hackman in Manchester last Wednesday (first visit to Band on the Wall, actually).  Thought she put on a cracking set - really good to see someone so clearly at the top of their game to date...a really confident & assured set.

Going to William Tyler and the Comet Is Coming over the next week. Extremely excited for both.

New Angel Olsen out today. Her last album My Woman was her best yet to I'm keen to see how she's followed that up with All Mirrors.

Reviews for it are off the charts.

New Wilco album is really great on first few listens.

New Nick Cave out too.

Beautiful production and his voice sounds incredible as always.
