Oh... they're just back to being Spurs, I see.

Carry on.

But he'd make the shortlist

Had to laugh at him moaning about tiredness, not in Europe and out of the league cup after 1 game.

don’t tell me, no follow up question from the interviewer / journo about that, and how Brighton had played more games than them.

Nice to see Mr Ange ‘mistakes happen, got to accept it’ Postecoglu was having a whinge at VAR going against them after the game  ;D

So their resurgence lasted all of 3 games then. Not enough for Ange to pick up another manager of the month award sadly.

Postecoglou on Dier.

Quote
“He's injured and pulled up sore in training and couldn't take part. [The transfer rumour] is a separate issue, but don't question my integrity. When I say he’s injured, he's injured. Ask him, but he was injured. It’s got nothing to do with anything else.

Eric Dier is close to a dream January move to Bayern Munich, with an agreement in place over his personal terms. Tottenham maintain there has been no direct contact between them and the Bundesliga champions; they would want a fee if Dier was to move now.

Looks like the love-in he's had with the media might be coming to an end...

Dier is no loss to them, but it's interesting that Postecoglou is willing to be so upfront about how little he cares about the player.

He was hoping we'd swoop in.

They’re certainly backing Ange. Saw a couple of weeks ago he was asking for more players to cope with his style of play and that’s two more signed already. Reckon they will make top 4? Looking like two from them, Vill and Arsenal at the moment. They’re the only ones without European games so they should be able to stay fairly fresh.

Dier to Bayern for Ł3.4m seems to be all but done.  Tuchel thinks Drier will cover central defence and both full-back positions.  It's a cheap back-up for Bayern but Dier pretty much writing off his slim chances of playing in the Euros - I thought he might have moved to a team where he'd be a regular.

Spurs seem to be rebuilding a much more athletic team.  I'd expect they'll get top four but it's competitive this year even with both Uniteds being rubbish.

Rat:

Quote
"If they keep their players fit, they are a certainty to finish in the top four and I think they can get to second and third," said Neville.

"With those players back, and if they can get through these next few weeks, I genuinely think they can be better than Arsenal and Liverpool this season.

"It might end up being a good draw in the FA Cup against Manchester City. Go out of that and concentrate completely on the league. But they do need to win a trophy.

"If he wins a trophy, great, but we know in the past when teams have had a really explosive season, they're not usually in Europe or competitions.

"For Ange Postecoglou to get to second or third, which they could do if they have a clean run at it, would be something special."

His comments are - as always - idiotic.

It would be good if they lose in the cup and focus on the league.

But they need to win a trophy.

He talks utter bollocks about the biggest clubs in the country to generate clicks. Nothing else. Why do we never hear him weigh in on the relegation candidates quite as heavily when it's just as interesting a topic in the league.

I think the injuries did clip their wings but also their tactics aren't a surprise anymore.

It amazed me how slow Chelsea were to clock on to the kamikaze high line but they got their in the end.  They got shredded by Brighton and Bournemouth should have stuck five past them.

Commentators are quick to jump on our high line but it's paired with high pressing and ensuring we don't give easy transitions.  Spurs really seem to struggle with that last bit and end up relying on their defenders winning 40/60 duals constantly.

I think they will get fourth though.  Between them and Villa.

I watched Dragon's Den for the first time in years, and I found it hilarious that Neville was questioning a guy, who was making 50k a year selling match worn boots, about charity donations, considering Neville spent his entire testimonial gate receipts on his own hotel rather than giving it to a charity. What an absolute wanker.
