737 top flight games is a monumental achievement in its own right, but all those shiny medals he picked up along the way mean Jamie can look back on a successful career with immense pride.

Think it will be next season before it really sinks in he's retired.

Warrior, hero, legend, epitomised by an incredible performance in Istanbul. Players are bestowed the title legend far too easily these days, the standard for our club is higher than most, we have Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish, Rush, Hunt, Callaghan, Keegan, Barnes, Emlyn, Hansen and others who rightly take their place with them. As a club we have been blessed with many genuine legends and the highest compliment I can pay Jamie is that he stands with them, rightly held up as a legend of Liverpool FC by the fans and he resides with some of the greatest men and talents to have graced football.
