Unbelievable. Even with all the speculations and ITKs running their mouths, I never for a second believed we will be able to land him. He's bloody world class. Well done to everybody involved with this deal.

Welcome to Liverpool FC Nuri. You're going to love it here.  :scarf

Loan move. Um. Goes in line with me thinking we're becoming the new Aston Villa.

Yeah, because Villa always sign the likes of Sahin on loan.

It seems a lot of money and hassle just to get a player on loan with no option to buy in the contract.

No worries. I've just heard people say that when it was clearly a big priority to sort the midfield out. A good midfield is good for the defence and forward line - a bad midfield effects the whole team. We now have a good midfield with Lucas, Allen and Sahin.

You can never satisfy some people. He's a world class player and all we are doing is paying his wages. If he plays his A game and helps us reach the top 4, I would be forever grateful and will wish him luck while he goes back to Madrid.

I don't care how much he cost, as long as he brings more to the pitch than we are paying is all that matters.

I also doubt we offered more than double what Arsenal did when 50% again would of done it.

Please stop dampening the excitement I feel at signing this lad. He's quality. Don't think because Real aren't playing him that he isn't. Lots of top players who didn't make it at Real Madrid are players we would bite the respective clubs hands off for at this current moment in time. I can think of at least five, probably more. It seems as though there is no substantial loan fee included, just a portion of his wages. Good deal then. Hopefully he comes here and does brilliantly, with similar brilliance in Madrid from Modric et al. Lets make it impossible for him to want to leave. If I see any more ridiculous statements or nonsensical negativity, I'm probably going to go apeshit.

Excellent bit of business. If he does well it will be tough for us next year when he has to go back, for that reason I am not sure how much I will allow myself to warm to him.

Best case scenario, we get into the Champs league, play excellent football and Nuri decides he wants to stay and give Real Madrid a bit of a problem.
It looks to me as if we have signed another 'average' player. I'll hold back my complete opinion until I see the lad play

If he sets the PL alight and helps us to top 4 what have Arsenal got to offer him we haven't?

City yeah, they can offer him silly wages so can see that.

Easily a 25m midfielder is Sahin.
Well worth it.Season long loan, and then let us see what happens. With Madrid, you never know. They might buy some top CM and Sahin could be up for grabs.

No it's a 5m loan fee plus his wages of £120k a week.

It's a lot of money for a loan deal with no option to buy.

He's a really good player but Madrid have taken us to the cleaners.

I know you must be pretty upset right now considering the ramifications of this loan.

The only place I've read that is from a bitter Arsenal twitter account. Even Wenger himself said that the reason he didn't sign Sahin because he couldn't offer him the playing time.

The consensus is that we're paying 5m in total - 2m loan fee and 3m to cover 70% of his wages.
