Sahin and Klopp (and Zorc for that matter) departed on good terms. Dortmund signed Sahin's replacement in the beginning of May, a few days before Sahin meant which meant that he had a full pre-season with the club before taking over Sahin's role. Sahin said he wanted to come back and Zorc said that the door would always be open for someone who had done so much for the club and grew up there. Sahin might've fucked them over financially, but they had time to sign a replacement and as before they departed on good terms knowing that this way the shock could be dampened.

Owen left us two weeks before the transfer window closed, the season had already started and he stayed on the bench in order to avoid being cup-tied in the CL. Owen strung us along as long as he could to ensure he got what he wanted, he made no efforts to keep his relationship open with the fans (unlike Sahin who kept in touch with management and players - went back to visit and watch matches) and when he got the chance to return he opted for Newcastle's cash and splinters in his arse.

Yea, Dortmund part was surprisingly very nice to him, and well it's obvious that it is true now that they are taking him back. But as someone mentioned, that season he was only behind Xavi and Schweinsteiger (though he bossed Schweini in head-to-head games) in Europe. Pirlo was a non-performer for Milan, and Alonso was embarrassed time and time again by Barca's midfield that season. Sahin IMO, was world's second best playmaker that season, and such player of course should go for a lot more than 9-10 million Euros.

If I remember correctly it took Gundgogan almost half a season to settle, and BVB were chasing Bayern in winter-break ,but once he was settled they staged a comeback. I was thinking if it was our team, and let's say Suso becomes a worldie and helps us win the league for first time in 25 years...becomes 2nd best player in his position, and yet fucks off to Madrid at first opportunity for 10M, I'd be very furious and disappointed him considering the time we put in developing him and making him the player he is.
